- Take the dispenser from the crafting output slot.
The bow can be damaged or enchanted; neither its durability nor its enchantments prevent the recipe or change the resulting dispenser. The Minecraft Wiki’s redstone crafting reference documents the recipe and these bow details.
What does a dispenser do?
A dispenser responds to redstone activation, and its action depends on the item inside. It can fire arrows or fireworks, for example, or place water from a bucket. It has nine inventory slots, and each new redstone pulse causes one activation; a continuously powered lever signal is not the same as repeated pulses. Dispenser vs. dropper: what is the difference?
Both blocks can move items, but they do different jobs. A dispenser uses certain items to perform an action, such as firing an arrow or placing water. A dropper instead ejects or transfers items, including into containers. The dispenser recipe includes a bow; the dropper recipe does not. This basic distinction is also described in Cori Dusmann’s 2015 book Minecraft Redstone Essentials and Must-Do Projects.

What if the dispenser recipe does not appear?
Check that you are using a crafting table, that the bow is in the center, redstone dust is directly below it, and all seven remaining slots contain cobblestone. If the output still does not appear, use the in-game recipe book or crafting output as a check for your game version. The cited recipe reference does not establish definitive current parity between Java and Bedrock, so confirm the recipe in the version you are playing.
