To keep recorded Urdu poetry live on YouTube, prepare a rights-cleared video or pair the audio with an image, then send it to YouTube Live through an encoder such as OBS Studio. For a stream that should continue while your computer is off, use a cloud looping service. In either case, create the stream in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, connect its stream URL and key, preview and test the broadcast, and monitor it after launch.
Before you set up the stream
Confirm that your channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live-streaming activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your planned start. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.

Clear the rights to every part of the broadcast
Check the specific poem, translation, spoken performance, recording, music, and visual material you plan to use, including the rights that apply in your broadcast territories. A poem being old, traditional, or available online does not by itself establish that your recording or use is cleared. Keep written permissions and license records.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A match may cause a placeholder to appear, interrupt the stream, or terminate it; an archive can also receive a Content ID claim after the stream ends. Even if you have a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist to avoid an interruption. Read YouTube’s live-streaming copyright guidance.
#1 Best Overall
Make the stream worth listening to and watching
Prepare a coherent playlist and presentation. Consider displaying the poem in readable Urdu script, with transliteration where useful, and crediting the poet, translator, and performer. Check spelling, names, pronunciation, and translations. Use artwork that supports the recitation without obscuring it. These are editorial choices, not YouTube requirements.
Do not assume that looping recordings qualifies a channel for monetization. YouTube says monetized content should be original and authentic; repetitive or mass-produced material may be ineligible, and its reused-content policy is a separate consideration from copyright permission. YouTube’s policy says, “What’s important is that the substance of each video should be materially varied and deliver creative, educational, or other value.” It reviews channels as a whole, and no format guarantees approval. See YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
Choose how to play the recordings continuously
OBS Studio on a computer
OBS Studio is a free, open-source option for a flexible production with scenes, artwork, titles, and audio controls. The computer and internet connection must remain available, and you are responsible for playback, monitoring, and recovery if the local setup fails. Consult the current OBS Studio site for the software.
Cloud looping
A cloud service can play uploaded recordings or a playlist without requiring your home computer to stay on. StreamNeo is #1 for this use: it keeps a YouTube stream running from the cloud, supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. Other services, including Gyre and Upstream, also describe cloud playlist workflows; check their current compatibility, pricing, storage, regional terms, and continuity behavior before relying on them. See Gyre and Upstream.

Dedicated encoder hardware
A hardware encoder such as the AJA HELO Plus is a specialized standalone route, not a requirement for a basic poetry stream. AJA lists a US MSRP of $2,101 for the HELO Plus; price and feature licensing can change, so verify them with AJA. PlayToStream is described as an optional upgrade.
Set up an OBS stream to YouTube
- Enable live streaming in advance. Verify the channel and complete YouTube’s live-streaming activation before launch; allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- Create an encoder stream. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream for an encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown there. Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it may be able to broadcast to your stream.
- Build the OBS scene. Add the recorded poetry as media and add any artwork, title, or credits needed for the presentation. Arrange and test the audio and visual elements. If you are looping a playlist, test the whole sequence and its transitions rather than assuming the playback will repeat as intended.
- Enter YouTube’s connection details. In OBS, use the YouTube stream URL and key from Live Control Room. Confirm the selected output resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and audio settings before starting.
- Start privately or use a test stream. Check YouTube’s preview and confirm the audio is clear, the visual is correct, and the stream is visible on its watch page. Test from a phone as well as the computer running OBS.
- Go live and monitor. Watch YouTube’s stream health and OBS’s output while the broadcast runs. Keep the computer, OBS, and network connection operating for as long as this local stream is meant to continue.
YouTube’s current encoder recommendations include H.264 at 720p/30 fps with an 8 Mbps video bitrate or 1080p/30 fps with a 14 Mbps video bitrate. Its table recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. For stereo audio, YouTube recommends 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps. These are platform recommendations, not guarantees that a particular connection or encoder will sustain the stream. Start at a resolution your upload connection can handle and test with the actual recordings. YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR), testing the upload connection, and using RTMPS, an encrypted extension of RTMP. See YouTube’s live encoder settings.

Or let it run in the cloud
- Upload your recording or build a playlist.
- Add your YouTube stream key.
- Go live; StreamNeo loops the uploaded material from the cloud.
Nothing has to stay on at home. Your uploaded file streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; the service automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is for YouTube and uploaded video, not a live camera feed. See StreamNeo for details, then start your free first day.

Test the full playlist with representative audio and movement before scheduling a long broadcast. Check the encoder preview, the public watch page, and playback on a phone; monitor stream health and audio/video quality after launch. YouTube’s live-streaming tips cover testing and monitoring.
Best Value
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its guidance does not guarantee automatic archiving for longer sessions. If you need an archive, plan separate sessions shorter than 12 hours and check the current Live Control Room controls rather than assuming an automatic start or stop will behave as desired. See YouTube’s encoder stream setup page.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Common problems and what to check
- You cannot start a live stream: Confirm channel verification, check for live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder: Check that the stream URL and key match the current stream in Live Control Room. If needed, copy the displayed details again and keep the key private.
- The stream is unstable or its health is poor: Test the upload connection, use CBR, and reduce resolution or bitrate to a level the connection can sustain. Check the keyframe interval against YouTube’s recommendation.
- The poetry audio is missing or hard to hear: Check the media source and audio routing in the encoder, then test the actual recording before launch. Confirm stereo audio is configured at the recommended sample rate and bitrate where appropriate.
- The playlist stops or transitions fail: Test the complete sequence and repeat behavior before going live. For cloud playback, verify file compatibility, transitions, account connection, and continuity with the service provider.
- YouTube interrupts the broadcast: Check for a third-party content match. A license may not prevent an interruption if the rights holder has not allowlisted your channel; contact the rights holder and review YouTube’s copyright notice.
- The stream has no archive: Check its duration and current Live Control Room settings. YouTube’s automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours, not as a guarantee for longer sessions.
Cost and continuity trade-offs
OBS has no software charge, but a local stream depends on a powered computer and a reliable home connection. Cloud looping replaces that local dependency with a service relationship; confirm current plan limits, storage, and terms before committing. A dedicated encoder adds equipment cost and is most relevant when a standalone hardware workflow is specifically needed. For a continuous stream, compare ongoing cost, playlist controls, scheduling, monitoring and recovery needs—not just the initial setup.
