No verified page or product named “Checkbox V18” could be identified. If you want a checkbox-based toggle button, use a real checkbox as the control and style its checked state with CSS. Keep it keyboard-accessible, clearly labeled, and visually distinct in both states.
What “Checkbox V18” refers to
The exact title does not identify a verified template or download. Related pages offer CSS checkbox and toggle examples, but their features, versions, and terms cannot be attributed to “Checkbox V18.” This guide explains the general approach and points to those separate examples.
Choose a switch or a checkbox based on the interaction
Use a switch for an immediately applied setting
A switch is a good fit when a user turns a setting on or off and the change takes effect immediately. The control should have a meaningful accessible name, and its checked state should be apparent without relying only on color.

If the user is selecting an option that will be submitted or committed later, a conventional checkbox is often clearer than a switch. For a choice between named modes, such as Light and Dark, use controls that express those alternatives; segmented controls commonly use radio inputs so only one option can be selected.

How checkbox-based toggle styling works
The checkbox stores the state. CSS uses the input’s :checked state to change the appearance of a track and move a thumb, often with a pseudo-element. The visual control remains connected to a native input rather than relying on a decorative element alone. A published Pure CSS tutorial demonstrates this pattern, while uiCookies describes related CSS-only sets with checkbox or radio inputs.
Keep the control usable with a keyboard and assistive technology
- Do not use
display:noneon the only functional input. That removes it from keyboard tab order and the accessibility tree, as the Pure CSS tutorial cautions. - Keep focus visible. One approach is to visually clip the input while preserving its focusability, then apply a visible focus style to the associated track. The input itself can also be styled.
- Provide a meaningful accessible name. The label should describe the setting or choice, not merely say “toggle.”
- Show state in more than color. Thumb movement or ON/OFF text can help distinguish the states. A color change alone may be unclear.

Check the exact download before using a template
Because no verified Checkbox V18 page was identified, its download status, features, compatibility, and license are not established. For any alternative, inspect the project’s own files and terms. Confirm that the input remains functional, the focus state is visible, motion is appropriate for users who request reduced motion, and the license permits your intended use. Do not assume that one publisher’s free-use terms or another project’s MIT listing applies to an unrelated asset.
