On Android Chrome, use More > Share > Print; on iPhone Safari, use Share > Markup > Done > Save File To. Desktop and mobile steps differ, so use the instructions for your device below.
Save a web page as a PDF on a computer
On desktop, PDF export is usually part of the print workflow. The available destination names and controls can depend on your browser and system.
Google Chrome
- Open the page you want to save.
- Choose File > Print, or press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac.
- In the print window, select Save as PDF. Adjust the print settings if needed.
- Choose a file name and location, then save. Google Chrome Help documents this desktop print-to-PDF workflow.
Saving to Google Drive is a separate destination that requires the relevant Drive setup; it is not necessary to create a PDF on your device.
Mozilla Firefox
- Open the page, then open Firefox’s print preview.
- In the destination drop-down menu, select Save to PDF.
- Save the PDF. Mozilla documents this option in its Firefox printing instructions.
Microsoft Edge
Open printing with Settings and more > Print, press Ctrl+P on Windows or Command+P on Mac, or right-click the page and select Print. Then inspect the destination or printer selector in the print dialog for a PDF option. The available destination depends on the print dialog and system setup; Microsoft’s instructions do not guarantee a single Edge-specific PDF label on every device.

Before saving, check the preview and adjust settings such as orientation, paper size, margins, scale, background graphics, or page range when available. Edge’s official printing help describes these controls. If a page is cluttered, Immersive Reader can provide a cleaner print view on supported sites.
Save a web page as a PDF on a phone or tablet
Google Chrome on Android
- Open the page in Chrome.
- Tap More > Share > Print.
- If necessary, expand the print options and choose Save as PDF.
- Select a save location and save the file. This is the route in Google’s Chrome for Android instructions.
Safari on iPhone
- Open the page in Safari and tap More, then Share. Depending on the tab layout, Share may already be visible.
- Tap Markup. You can annotate the page before saving if you want.
- Tap More, then Done.
- Choose Save File To, name the file, and tap Save. Apple describes this workflow in its iPhone instructions for annotating and saving a webpage as a PDF.
For Firefox on Android, Mozilla publishes a dedicated help article about saving web pages as PDFs. The available documentation does not establish a menu sequence here, so follow the current instructions shown in Firefox or Mozilla’s help page rather than assuming Chrome’s steps apply.

Check the PDF before relying on it
A PDF captures a printable representation of a page; it is not a guarantee that every interactive control, dynamic element, or gated section will work or appear as it does on the live site. Inspect the preview before saving, especially if layout matters. Margins, scaling, background graphics, orientation, and selected page ranges can change the result. If the saved file looks wrong, reopen the print controls, adjust the available settings, and save another copy.
Why the PDF option may be missing
Open the print dialog’s destination or printer selector and inspect the available choices. The options can depend on the operating system and installed print services, so there is no single recovery step that applies to every browser and device. If no PDF destination appears, consult the browser or device’s current print options rather than treating a Web Archive or another save format as a PDF.

Safari on Mac: PDF and web archives are different
Safari’s Mac save options documented by Apple include Web Archive and Page Source, not confirmation of a PDF export workflow. A Web Archive stores page graphics and links, while linked destination pages still need to be available; Page Source saves HTML. Neither is the same format as a PDF.
