You can stream recorded Fortnite matches around the clock by preparing footage you have the rights to use, assembling it into a program, and sending that program to YouTube Live through a livestream encoder—or by uploading videos to StreamNeo, adding your YouTube stream key, and starting the cloud stream. The technical setup is only part of the job: raw, repetitive gameplay may not qualify for YouTube monetization, even if you own the recordings. Add meaningful commentary or analysis, check music and other rights, and verify your encoder’s looping and recovery behavior before relying on an unattended broadcast.
What you need before starting
There is no single hardware setup that fits every Fortnite creator. Your needs depend on where the recordings came from, what equipment you already have, and whether you will add commentary.
- Recordings: Use matches you recorded yourself or footage you have permission to rebroadcast. Check whether music, overlays, and other material in the recordings can also be used in a livestream.
- A program to broadcast: For a do-it-yourself setup, use a livestream encoder that can send a prerecorded program to YouTube Live. Confirm that it supports the playlist looping and unattended reconnect behavior you need; the exact options and setup vary by encoder.
- A YouTube channel and stream key: You will need to configure YouTube Live and provide the encoder with the stream key for the broadcast.
- Optional capture and audio equipment: A capture card may be needed for a particular console-to-computer recording workflow; a microphone is useful if you plan to record or provide commentary. Neither is universally required if your footage and equipment are already in place.
Prepare Fortnite footage you can rebroadcast
Check who created the footage and what it contains
YouTube’s livestream terms make the person providing the live content responsible for having the necessary rights to use it on Google services, including music rights. Check in-game music, lobby music, third-party overlays, and any added soundtrack separately. A recording being available to you does not automatically mean every element in it is cleared for rebroadcast.
Epic’s End User License Agreement treats recordings and livestreams of Licensed Products gameplay as “External Fan Content,” subject to compliance with Epic’s terms. Review Epic’s current terms and any fan content policy they reference before publishing: Epic Games End User License Agreement.

Make a playlist with a deliberate program
Select the matches you want viewers to see and arrange them into a playlist or other continuous program. Consider adding original commentary or analysis tied to the action: explain decisions, tactics, mistakes, rotations, or how a particular play worked. Give the stream a recognizable purpose rather than relying on an unchanged sequence of matches.
Keep a copy of the playlist order and the source files. Before going live, review transitions and audio levels, and check that the program does not expose personal information or include material you do not want broadcast.

Send the recordings to YouTube Live with an encoder
The general DIY workflow is to set up a prerecorded program in an encoder, connect that encoder to YouTube Live, start the broadcast, and monitor it. Exact controls and supported looping modes depend on the encoder; YouTube’s encoder documentation does not establish one universal configuration for unattended 24/7 playlist looping.
- Open YouTube Live and create or schedule the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, open Create and choose Go live. Set the stream title, description, audience, visibility, and other details for the broadcast.
- Copy the stream key from YouTube Live Control Room. Treat it as a password: anyone with access to it may be able to send video to your channel. Do not publish it or include it in a recording.
- Configure your encoder’s prerecorded source or playlist. Add the match recordings in the order you want them to play. Set the encoder to loop the playlist only if it supports that mode, and confirm how it handles the end of a file, the end of the playlist, and a failed source.
- Enter YouTube’s stream key in the encoder. Use the encoder’s YouTube or custom RTMP destination settings as applicable. Confirm that the key corresponds to the intended broadcast before sending video.
- Check the preview before going live. In YouTube Live Control Room, confirm that video and audio arrive correctly, the title and visibility are right, and the stream has no unintended black screen, silence, or overlay.
- Start the encoder output, then verify the public broadcast. Confirm YouTube has begun receiving the stream and check the viewing page from a separate browser or device if practical.
- Monitor the stream and its archive. YouTube may archive livestreams for later viewing, and both the live content and archive remain subject to applicable terms. Check archive and visibility settings for the broadcast you created.
Confirm continuous playback and recovery yourself
Do not assume that a normal video playlist automatically becomes a continuous livestream. Before leaving an encoder unattended, verify that it can loop the complete program, keep sending a valid signal between clips, and reconnect if the encoder or connection drops. YouTube’s documentation may describe encoder features such as browser-source overlays, but that does not establish support for a specific 24/7 looping configuration.

Can a 24/7 Fortnite gameplay stream be monetized?
Possibly, but neither a continuous broadcast nor ownership of the recordings guarantees monetization. YouTube says its monetization policies apply to live streams and reviews channels as a whole. Content that is repetitive, mass-produced, generic, or minimally transformed may be ineligible.
YouTube’s game-content guidance says monetization depends on commercial-use rights granted by the game publisher. It cautions that gameplay shown for extended periods without appropriate rights may not be accepted; commentary closely tied to the action and offering instructional or educational value may qualify. That is not a guarantee of approval for Fortnite footage or for any particular commentary style. YouTube also assesses reused content separately from copyright permission, so permission to use footage does not by itself establish monetization eligibility. See YouTube channel monetization policies, YouTube video game and software content guidance, and YouTube reused-content guidance.

Revenue options are conditional
For eligible creators with monetization enabled, YouTube lists ads, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and channel memberships as possible livestream revenue features. Individual ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. YouTube reported an average “over 20% uplift in instream ad revenue per hour” in a January 2024 comparison across 207 countries, comparing channels with live automatic mid-roll ads enabled against channels without them. That platform-reported comparison is not a forecast for a new Fortnite stream or a promise of earnings. Details are in YouTube’s live-stream monetization guidance.

- YouTube receives no video: Check that the encoder is connected to the correct YouTube broadcast and that its stream key was entered accurately. If the key may have been exposed, replace it in YouTube and update the encoder.
- The stream stops between matches: The encoder may be ending output when a file finishes instead of advancing or looping. Check playlist order, loop controls, and what the encoder does at clip boundaries.
- The broadcast ends after a connection interruption: Check whether the encoder has a reconnect option and whether it resumes sending to YouTube after the connection returns. Test recovery before leaving the stream unattended.
- There is a black screen or silence: Verify that the source files load in the encoder, that the correct audio track is included, and that the YouTube preview receives both picture and sound before you go live.
- You receive a copyright claim or other policy warning: Review the affected recording for music or other third-party material and address the notice through YouTube’s stated process. Owning a gameplay recording does not necessarily clear every element embedded in it.
- The channel is not accepted for monetization: Review the channel as a whole for repetitive uploads and reused material, and make the stream’s original commentary, analysis, or educational purpose clear. A change in presentation can improve originality, but approval remains YouTube’s decision.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for keeping a channel live with uploaded videos. The setup is three steps: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, then go live. Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on; StreamNeo loops the program in the cloud and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
