To run a French café music stream on YouTube around the clock, clear the music for continuous online broadcasting first, then send a looping audio-and-visual program to a YouTube Live event through a compatible encoder. Keep the stream key private, monitor YouTube Studio and the encoder, and prepare a restart plan. A café’s permission to play music for customers does not by itself establish permission to broadcast it online.
1. Clear the music for a continuous YouTube broadcast
Choose music you own and control, music commissioned under a written agreement, or tracks from a provider whose written license expressly covers your planned use. A license that merely says “royalty free” is not enough to establish that continuous YouTube livestreaming, monetization, worldwide availability, or archived replays are allowed.
Keep a rights record for every track
Record the track title, the owners of its composition and recording, the license terms, allowed platforms and territories, whether monetization is permitted, the license term, archive or replay permissions, attribution requirements, and a rights-holder contact. Ask the rights holder whether your YouTube channel can be allowlisted in Content ID. YouTube says a live stream can be interrupted even when you have a license if the channel has not been added to the rights holder’s allowlist. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams

French government guidance for cafés and restaurants concerns authorization and declaration for playing music in a business, including a general representation contract with Sacem. It does not establish that this premises-use permission covers a YouTube livestream, viewers in other countries, monetization, or video archives. The page was verified on 12 August 2025; ask the relevant rights holders or qualified counsel about your actual online uses and territories. A consumer music subscription or a café’s in-premises authorization should not be treated as a substitute for written online-streaming rights. If the permission is unclear, do not use the track in the broadcast.
2. Build visuals that can loop without introducing new rights problems
Choose a simple, stable identity for the channel: for example, an original café illustration, a restrained animated window, or a still image with subtle motion and a readable title card. Use artwork, fonts, and video assets that you own or are permitted to use in both a livestream and its archive. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, including material from another live broadcast, so do not add film scenes, other creators’ broadcasts, or uncleared clips. Keep a backup still image or scene ready. A less elaborate visual can be easier to maintain and recover than a scene dependent on many separate assets; this is a production choice, not a YouTube requirement.
3. Confirm that your channel can livestream
Before building the schedule, open YouTube Studio and confirm that live streaming is available for the channel. YouTube’s current French-language Help page says the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days; streamers must be at least 16. Check the current Help page and Studio status because platform rules can change. YouTube Help: Premiers pas avec la diffusion en direct

- Wireless Bluetooth streaming
- 12 hours of playtime
- IPX7 waterproof
- Pair multiple speakers with party boost
- Premium JBL sound quality
The same page lists limits of 10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key, applied concurrently. A single continuous program is within those limits, but test streams and alternate events count when they are active. YouTube’s separate French policy page says an account warning can block live streaming for 14 days; that is a platform rule, not a general copyright penalty. YouTube Help: Premiers pas avec le streaming en direct
4. Create the YouTube event and connect an encoder
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream. Add the title, description, thumbnail, and visibility that suit the channel. Choose the encoder workflow rather than a webcam workflow if you are sending a composed program of music and visuals. YouTube lists encoder delivery as a supported way to stream. YouTube Help: Premiers pas avec la diffusion en direct
- In the encoder, select its current YouTube-compatible preset and protocol. Connect it to the Studio event with the stream key or other connection details provided by Studio. Treat the stream key like a password: do not show it in a public screenshot, description, or shared scene.
- Set output quality to suit the source and your connection. Use the encoder’s current YouTube preset rather than copying low-level DASH values from developer documentation. The YouTube Help and DASH sources cited here do not establish one universal bitrate, resolution, frame rate, or keyframe interval for every source and connection; follow the current encoder guidance for the quality you are actually sending. Google’s DASH guide is for implementers of that ingestion protocol, not a creator’s hardware checklist. Google for Developers: Delivering Live YouTube Content via DASH
- Check the Studio preview and stream health. Confirm the image appears, the audio is audible and at an appropriate level, and Studio is not showing a warning before making the event public. A private or unlisted test is still a broadcast use: only test with music and visuals whose rights permit it.
- Start the event and verify the actual public output. Check the viewer-facing stream, not only the encoder’s local preview, so you can catch a muted, frozen, or incorrectly selected source.
5. Make looping and recovery part of the operating plan
A 24/7 channel is a continuing operation, not just a successful launch. Keep someone able to check YouTube Studio and the encoder status, review stream-health warnings and copyright notices, and restart the program when appropriate. If YouTube interrupts or stops the stream, inspect the Studio dashboard for the reason and resolve the rights or policy issue before restarting. Do not try to bypass a restriction by moving the same stream to another channel; a restriction may also limit live access. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams

Plan for ordinary technical failures
- Power loss: Decide who can restore the encoder and source program. A UPS or spare computer may help a particular setup, but neither is a platform requirement.
- Internet failure: Decide whether a secondary connection is available and who will confirm that YouTube receives the signal again.
- Encoder or source failure: Keep a simple backup scene and audio source ready, and document how to restart the encoder and reconnect to the scheduled event.
- Rights interruption: Check the Studio notice and resolve the claim or contact the rights holder. Replaying the same material without addressing the issue may lead to another interruption.
Choose an archive policy that matches the license
YouTube says an archived live stream can receive a Content ID claim after the broadcast ends. Decide whether to retain the live archive, disable archiving if that option is available for the event, or publish an edited replay only when the music and visual rights allow it. Confirm the current Studio controls and the license terms rather than assuming a live-use grant also covers replay. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams
6. Troubleshoot common launch and continuity problems
| Symptom | Likely issue | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| Studio does not offer live streaming | The channel may not meet current eligibility requirements or may have a restriction. | Check verification, the channel’s live-streaming status, and the current YouTube eligibility guidance. Do not try to evade a restriction by switching channels. |
| The encoder is running, but Studio has no preview | The encoder may not be connected to the intended event or may be using incorrect connection details. | Recheck the selected Studio event and stream key, then use the encoder’s YouTube-compatible preset and reconnect. |
| The preview appears but has no sound or the wrong image | The encoder may be capturing the wrong audio or video source, or the source may have stopped. | Check the selected inputs and local preview, then verify the Studio preview and viewer-facing output before launching publicly. |
| YouTube shows a copyright warning, placeholder, or interruption | A third-party match may have been detected, or the rights holder may not have allowlisted the channel. | Read the Studio notice, check the track against your written rights record, and contact the rights holder where appropriate. Do not restart with the same disputed material until you have addressed the issue. |
| The live stream ends, then the archive receives a claim | Live broadcast permission may not include archived replay, or Content ID may identify material after the broadcast. | Review the archive settings and the license’s replay terms. YouTube documents that an archived stream can receive a claim after the live broadcast is over. |
| The stream drops during an otherwise valid broadcast | Power, internet, encoder, or source audio/video may have failed. | Check Studio and encoder status, restore the failed source or connection, then follow the documented restart procedure. |
7. Choose a delivery setup and budget for the ongoing work
YouTube supports encoder delivery, but the cited platform material does not require a particular computer, webcam, microphone, capture card, or dedicated encoder for a stream built from music and looped visuals. An encoder on a computer you already own may be suitable if you can keep it, its connection, and the source program running and can respond to failures. Dedicated hardware may fit a different operation, but choose it based on your existing setup and recovery needs rather than treating it as mandatory.
For a do-it-yourself setup, account for the computer or encoder, electricity, internet service, and the time needed for monitoring and recovery. No fixed equipment cost or universal reliability comparison is established here; your costs depend on the gear and connection you already have.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Your computer can be off while it loops the uploaded program. It is for uploaded video, not a live camera feed, and streams to YouTube only. Each slot supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers, plus automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card; the Monthly price is $9.99 per month. Review the music and visual rights before uploading, including permission for continuous streaming and any archive.
