To run a 24/7 morning bhajan playlist as a YouTube live stream, send prerecorded bhajan videos through an encoder or a cloud streaming service. A YouTube playlist by itself does not create a live broadcast. Before going live, enable streaming on your channel, confirm rights for every recording, connect the encoder to YouTube with a stream URL and stream key, then preview and monitor the feed. Plan for YouTube’s 12-hour archive and DVR limits: a continuous 24-hour stream may not be archived at all.
Choose how to keep the live stream running
The encoder takes your prerecorded videos and sends them to YouTube as a live feed. You can run it on a computer, use dedicated hardware, or use a cloud service that plays uploaded videos. Pick based on whether you want to manage a machine yourself or leave the stream running in the cloud.

Prepare the channel and bhajan media
Enable live streaming early
Verify your YouTube channel and check that it has not had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube says streamers must be at least 16. If this is the first time enabling live streaming, activation can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave it until launch day. Clear rights for every track and recording
Confirm that you have the rights needed for the specific composition and recording, for YouTube live use, continuous playback, monetization if applicable, and the territories where viewers may watch. A “free” label or a credit in the description does not establish permission. Keep license agreements and permission records accessible.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. It says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” An identified match can replace the feed with a placeholder, interrupt it, or lead to termination. If you have a license for music that may be claimed, ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; permission and allowlisting are separate issues. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility for rights on the streamer: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” Read the livestream terms and conditions.
Creator Music is not a general license for a 24/7 bhajan broadcast. YouTube’s cited guidance describes availability for U.S. YouTube Partner Program creators, with expansion outside the U.S. pending, and says revenue-sharing tracks under those rules cannot be used in live streams. Track-specific terms may differ; check the actual license rather than assuming a track is cleared for live use. See Creator Music usage details.

Set up and launch the YouTube live stream
- Prepare the playlist. Organize the prerecorded videos in the intended order and check that each file plays correctly, including its audio. Make sure every item is rights-cleared for this use.
- Create a stream in YouTube Studio. Open Live Control Room and create a live stream. YouTube’s encoder guide explains the stream setup and connection.
- Copy the connection details. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the stream into the corresponding fields in your software or hardware encoder. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it, share it casually, or include it in a public screenshot.
- Configure the encoder. Select the prepared playlist or video source, set the output settings supported by your encoder and connection, and enter the YouTube connection details. YouTube’s cited guidance establishes the use of the stream URL and key; exact setting names vary by encoder.
- Start privately or unlisted and preview. Start the encoder, wait for YouTube to receive the feed, and inspect the preview before making the stream public. Check that the video is playing, audio is clear and continuous, and the watch page opens as expected.
- Launch and keep watch. Confirm the intended visibility and start the public broadcast. Monitor the feed and encoder rather than assuming that a successful start means it will run without interruption.
Make a 24/7 stream more reliable
Leave upload-bandwidth headroom
Your upload capacity needs to exceed the stream’s bitrate, with margin for normal network variation. YouTube recommends 20% headroom above the total stream bitrate. A connection that barely matches the bitrate can fail when other devices upload or network conditions change. Its streaming tips recommend previewing, checking the watch page and mobile playback, monitoring audio and video, and testing encoder failover if you have a backup. These preparations reduce avoidable problems but do not guarantee uptime.
Plan for interruptions and recovery
- Keep the encoder computer and network connection dedicated to the stream if using a local setup; sleep, shutdown, updates, or a router outage can stop transmission.
- Test the playlist from start to finish and check for silent gaps, unexpected endings, or files that fail to advance.
- If you configure a backup encoder, test the handoff before relying on it.
- Keep a local recording if you need an archive independent of YouTube’s live-stream capture.
Understand the 12-hour archive and DVR limits
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. DVR rewind may also be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. A nominal 24-hour session therefore is not a dependable way to create a complete replay. If replay matters, save a local copy and consider separate shorter sessions, while making clear to viewers that YouTube does not promise a complete archive for streams over 12 hours. Troubleshooting a bhajan live stream

Monetization expectations
YouTube says live-stream monetization is available to creators in the YouTube Partner Program; that does not guarantee approval or earnings. Rights clearance remains necessary whether or not a stream is monetized. Creator Music revenue-sharing terms described by YouTube do not provide a live-stream license.
