To run Malayalam songs live on YouTube around the clock, you need three things that must be handled separately: permission to stream every recording and composition, a transmission setup that can keep sending the feed, and a plan to monitor YouTube’s copyright checks. A stream starting successfully does not mean the music is cleared, and a music license may not prevent an interruption if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID.

1. Confirm your channel can go live

YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Enable live streaming before launch rather than waiting until the day you plan to broadcast. YouTube for Artists recommends enabling it at least 24 hours before your first planned live stream. See YouTube’s live-streaming enablement guidance and YouTube for Artists’ going-live guidance.

  • Verify the channel and check that it is eligible for live streaming.
  • Enable the feature in advance, allowing at least 24 hours before a first stream.
  • Decide whether the broadcast will be archived, monetized, or both; those uses should be covered in your music permissions.

2. Clear the Malayalam music before you build the program

You are responsible for having the rights needed to use the live content on YouTube. YouTube’s live-stream terms specifically include music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. The terms are at YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions.

Clear each track rather than assuming a whole playlist or catalog is covered. A song generally involves rights in both the sound recording and the underlying composition; identify the relevant owners and get permission for the uses you plan. A track being available online—or playable through a consumer music subscription—does not itself grant permission to rebroadcast it in a YouTube live stream.

Build a track-by-track rights record

For every recording, document the rights holder or authorized contact and confirm that the permission covers the details relevant to your channel:

  • YouTube live-stream use, not just personal listening or on-demand playback.
  • The territories where viewers may access the stream.
  • The permission period and any limits on repeat or continuous use.
  • Whether the stream may be archived or replayed after it ends.
  • Whether monetization is permitted.
  • Whether the rights owner will add your channel to its Content ID allowlist, when applicable.

These are practical clearance questions; the platform’s terms require necessary rights but do not define what any particular Malayalam catalog or contract grants. Availability and scope depend on the specific tracks, rights holders, territories, and intended uses.

Coordinate with labels, distributors, and other rights holders

YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music. Ask the relevant rights owner about Content ID allowlisting before going live. YouTube warns that even licensed third-party content can interrupt a stream if the channel is not allowlisted. Guidance is available from YouTube for Artists.

3. Choose how to transmit a continuous feed

YouTube supports mobile, webcam, encoder, and console streaming. For a planned music program with a visual, title treatment, or playlist, an encoder-based setup is a sensible fit. YouTube documents encoder streaming as a method commonly used for concerts and similar productions, but does not prescribe a particular computer or encoder for a 24/7 music stream. Choose equipment compatible with your streaming software and plan how it will be monitored and restarted; no method is guaranteed to run without interruption.

Method What supplies the stream Considerations for a continuous music program
Encoder Streaming software or hardware sends the feed to YouTube. Provides a practical route for a designed audio/video program; select a compatible setup and plan for monitoring and recovery.
Mobile or webcam A phone or webcam-based streaming workflow. YouTube supports these methods, but its guidance does not establish their reliability for uninterrupted 24/7 music playback.
Console A supported console streaming workflow. YouTube lists console streaming, but does not compare its suitability or uptime for a continuous music feed.

For YouTube’s supported methods and getting-started instructions, see Get started with live streaming. Whichever method you choose, the feed needs a continuing source for audio and video, a working connection, and someone or something able to detect and address failures.

4. Prepare and launch the YouTube stream

  1. Prepare the program. Assemble only tracks whose permissions you have verified. Decide what visual will accompany the music and whether the broadcast will be archived. Keep your rights records accessible.
  2. Set up the encoder workflow. Choose software or hardware compatible with your computer and intended feed. YouTube’s cited getting-started guidance does not give a universal 24/7 hardware specification, so verify the requirements of the particular encoder you choose.
  3. Connect the encoder to YouTube. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and configure the encoder using the stream details YouTube provides. Treat the stream key as private; anyone with access may be able to send a feed to your broadcast.
  4. Start the feed and inspect it. Confirm in YouTube Studio that the incoming audio and video are correct before presenting the stream as live. Check that the intended program is playing, not merely that the encoder reports a connection.
  5. Monitor Studio while live. Watch for copyright notices, replacement or interruption of the feed, and termination. A successful start is not proof that every track has passed the platform’s checks.

5. Understand Content ID interruptions and monetization

YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. If it detects a match, it may replace the feed with a placeholder and warn the streamer; continued use can lead to interruption or termination. A Content ID claim may also be applied to an archived stream after it ends. These outcomes are separate from whether you believe you have a license: YouTube warns that a licensed stream may still be interrupted if the channel has not been allowlisted by the rights owner. See YouTube’s guidance on live-stream copyright issues.

If a notice appears, check YouTube Studio and contact the relevant rights owner or label/distributor to resolve the match and ask about allowlisting. Do not respond by repeatedly restarting with the same uncleared material; the underlying rights and platform match still need to be addressed.

Monetization is a separate question from permission to broadcast. YouTube’s monetization policies apply to live streams, and repetitive or mass-produced material can be ineligible under its inauthentic-content policy. A 24/7 format alone does not establish eligibility. Review YouTube’s channel monetization policies and make sure the channel adds distinct creative value rather than assuming continuous runtime qualifies.

6. Troubleshoot common failures

Symptom Likely issue What to do
You cannot enable live streaming The channel may not be verified, may have a restriction within the preceding 90 days, or may not have completed first-time enablement. Check channel verification and live-streaming eligibility in YouTube Studio, then enable the feature in advance.
The stream starts, then shows a placeholder or warning YouTube may have detected third-party content in the live feed. Review the Studio notice, verify the track’s permissions, and contact the appropriate rights owner about the match and Content ID allowlisting.
A supposedly licensed song still interrupts the feed The channel may not be allowlisted by the relevant rights owner. Ask the label, distributor, or other applicable owner to confirm permissions and add the channel to its allowlist when applicable.
The live stream ends after a copyright issue A detected match may have caused interruption or termination. Resolve the rights or Content ID issue before resuming; do not assume restarting the same playlist will avoid another interruption.
An archived stream receives a claim YouTube may apply a Content ID claim after the live stream ends. Review the claim in Studio and follow YouTube’s dispute or rights-resolution process only if you have a basis to do so.
The feed stops for a non-copyright reason The ongoing audio/video source, encoder, device, or connection may have stopped; YouTube’s setup guidance does not promise nonstop uptime for a device or hosting service. Check the source and connection, inspect the encoder and Studio status, and restart only after confirming the feed and rights situation.

Or let it run in the cloud

Monthly is $9.99 per month.

Cloud transmission does not replace music permission or Content ID coordination: clear every track and arrange any needed allowlisting before you broadcast. Start your free StreamNeo day.
