You can build a continuous Hindi music broadcast with OBS by loading rights-cleared tracks into its VLC Video source, adding a scrolling text source for the song list, and sending the scene to YouTube Live Control Room. First clear the music for live streaming and any archive; then rehearse privately and check YouTube’s preview and stream health. “24/7” describes the intended schedule, not guaranteed uptime: your computer, power, network, encoder, media source, or YouTube can interrupt the broadcast.
Clear the music rights before preparing the stream
For every recording, identify the rights holder and confirm permission for public live streaming on YouTube. Check that the permission also covers the composition, your territories, monetization plans, and any saved or archived version of the stream. If a label or distributor controls the music, ask whether your channel needs to be allowlisted in Content ID before you go live. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music (YouTube for Artists live-streaming guidance).
A file playing on your computer, credit in the description, or a consumer music subscription does not by itself establish streaming rights. If permission is unclear, confirm it with the relevant rights holder or a qualified adviser rather than assuming the track is safe to broadcast.
YouTube says all live streams are scanned for third-party matches. It may replace the video with a placeholder, warn you to stop using the material, interrupt or terminate the stream, or take action after a strike. If the stream is archived, Content ID claims may be made after the broadcast ends (YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams).

Enable live streaming and create the broadcast
- Check channel eligibility. In YouTube Studio, open Go Live and follow the prompts to verify your channel if needed. YouTube’s current guidance says a channel must be verified and must not have a live-streaming restriction in the prior 90 days; its general live-stream guide says streamers must be at least 16 (YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming).
- Allow time for first-time activation. YouTube for Artists advises enabling live streaming at least 24 hours before your first planned broadcast (YouTube for Artists live-streaming guidance).
- Choose the encoder workflow. In the current Live Control Room, create or schedule a broadcast and choose the encoder route for OBS. YouTube changes its interface, so follow the labels currently shown in Studio rather than relying on old screenshots.
- Set the listing accurately. Use a title and description that reflect the actual music and presentation. Choose the audience and privacy settings appropriate to the content and your plans; do not describe the broadcast as continuous Hindi music unless that is what viewers will receive.
Build the OBS scene and load the playlist
- Create a scene. In OBS, add a background image or video that you have permission to use. A still background can keep the presentation simple; check its rights just as you would for the music.
- Install VLC if the source is missing. OBS’s VLC Video source depends on VLC. For 64-bit OBS, install a matching 64-bit VLC build. Then add a VLC Video source and load your authorized local media files (OBS Project: Media Sources).
- Choose order and repeat behavior. The source supports a playlist, a Loop Playlist option that restarts playback when the list ends, and Shuffle Playlist for randomized order. OBS documents loop on and shuffle off as the defaults. Check each file and the resulting order before broadcasting.
- Match the list to playback. A fixed sequence makes it easier to prepare a song list in advance. Shuffle can make repeats less predictable, but a prewritten ordered list will no longer reliably match what is playing. These are consequences of the playlist settings, not separate OBS guarantees.
Add a scrolling song list
- Create the text source. Add an OBS text source and enter a newline-separated list, or enable its read-from-file option if you want to maintain a text file outside OBS. Use accurate song titles and artist names. Do not display lyrics unless you have separate permission to display them.
- Make it readable. Position and size the source in the scene, select a font that supports the Hindi text you need, and use enough contrast. Preview the overlay at a small phone-like size as well as on a desktop so the text remains legible.
- Apply the Scroll Filter. Add OBS’s Scroll filter to the text source. It can move a source horizontally or vertically; adjust the corresponding speed and crop dimensions, and use Loop to control whether the source repeats after moving off-screen (OBS Project: Scroll Filter).
- Keep expectations clear. A static text list will not automatically follow the VLC playlist. If order matters, keep the list consistent with the playlist and update both together when tracks change.
Optional: show the current track automatically
A live “now playing” label is a separate feature from a scrolling program list. The community Tuna plugin documents reading supported source metadata, including VLC, and writing formatted text files that OBS text sources can read (OBS Forums: Tuna). Metadata availability depends on the source and correctly tagged files. Plugin installation, platform support, and compatibility can change, so check that your versions work together and verify the output against playback before relying on it for a long broadcast.
Connect OBS to YouTube and rehearse
- Connect the encoder. Link OBS through the current YouTube account integration or enter the stream settings supplied by Live Control Room. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Run a private or unlisted rehearsal. Use music cleared for this test too. Confirm that the YouTube preview appears, audio continues between tracks, the list scrolls as intended, and the text is readable on phone and desktop.
- Check stream health before going public. Watch YouTube’s health status and OBS’s connection indicator. OBS notes that increasing dropped frames and a yellow or red connection indicator can point to an unstable connection or a bitrate the connection cannot sustain (OBS Project: Dropped Frames and Network Issues).
- Choose settings for your actual setup. There is no bitrate or resolution value established here for every computer and connection. Use OBS’s configuration guidance for your hardware and network, then lower bitrate or resolution if the connection cannot sustain the current output. Do not treat a high setting as better if it makes the stream unstable.
Choose a format and understand monetization limits
YouTube currently describes horizontal and vertical live formats. Its guide says vertical live streams can appear in the Shorts feed, and the vertical live feed is scrollable. The format comparison lists live ad pre-rolls and mid-rolls for horizontal streams but not for the vertical feed, and it distinguishes clickable links by format. Check current Studio controls and eligibility before choosing a layout around a particular feature (YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder).

YouTube for Artists says creators may use shopping features, Supers, and ads on live streams subject to access and eligibility. It also reports that “over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025.” That is a dated, platform-wide figure—not a forecast of viewers or income for a Hindi music channel (YouTube for Artists live-streaming guidance).
Keep a planned 24/7 stream running—and know its limits
An OBS broadcast relies on the computer running the encoder, the power supply, network connection, media source, and streaming platform. Any of them can fail, so plan how you will notice an interruption and restart the broadcast. A rehearsal checks the setup at that moment; it does not prove uninterrupted future operation. YouTube and OBS materials cited here do not establish a guaranteed uptime for this workflow.

- Dropped frames or a yellow/red OBS connection indicator: OBS associates these with an unstable connection or an unsustainable bitrate. Check the connection and reduce bitrate or resolution as appropriate, then confirm stream health again.
- No VLC Video source option: Check that VLC is installed and matches OBS’s architecture; OBS specifies 64-bit VLC for 64-bit OBS.
- The song list does not match the current track: A static list is manual. Check playlist order, turn off shuffle if you need a fixed sequence, or configure and validate a metadata-aware now-playing setup.
- Hindi characters appear incorrectly: Try a font that supports the characters, check the source text, and review the rendered overlay in the OBS preview before going live.
- YouTube interrupts or flags the stream: Review YouTube’s copyright notice and contact the relevant rights holder or distributor. A license may not be enough if the channel needs Content ID allowlisting; do not restart with the same disputed material until the rights issue is resolved.
