To run a 24/7 devotional songs channel, first build a library you have documented permission to stream; then set up a dependable live workflow and make your channel’s original contribution clear. A song’s devotional subject, age, or availability online does not by itself give you permission to rebroadcast it. Even with permission, YouTube may interrupt a live stream if it detects third-party music and the channel is not allowlisted by the rights owner.
How can I run a 24/7 devotional songs stream without interruptions?
You cannot guarantee that a stream will never be interrupted. YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content; it may replace a stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. YouTube also says that a licensed track can still trigger an interruption if the channel is not on the rights owner’s Content ID allowlist. Build the workflow around cleared music, monitoring, and a recovery plan rather than assuming that a continuous loop will run unattended indefinitely. YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance
1. Document the rights for every track
Keep a record for each song that identifies its title, performer, recording owner, composition and lyric rights contacts, permission evidence, territory, permitted uses, term, and whether the permission covers live streaming and archived playback. YouTube’s live-stream terms place responsibility on the provider to hold necessary rights for worldwide exploitation of live content, including relevant music rights. This is a practical recordkeeping checklist, not legal advice. YouTube Terms of Service
2. Confirm the permissions cover your actual use
Ask the relevant rights holders whether your permission covers the recording and composition, the territories where the stream will be available, live transmission, and any archive or replay. If a licensed recording is detected during a live broadcast, ask the rights owner whether it can add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license alone may not prevent a live interruption. 3. Prepare the broadcast and a fallback
Choose a schedule listeners can understand, prepare a stable audio/video feed, and decide what you will do if the stream stops. YouTube’s Live Streaming API describes a liveStream resource as the video feed sent to YouTube for a live broadcast; it does not prescribe a particular computer, encoder, internet plan, or hardware model. Monitor the live session and YouTube Studio for warnings, and remove or resolve material identified as third-party content. YouTube Live Streaming API: liveStreams
4. Check the archive after the broadcast
If you choose to archive a live stream, review the resulting recording for claims or restrictions. YouTube says Content ID claims are made after a live stream is completed when the creator chooses to archive it. Keep the associated rights records and correspondence with the stream’s details. Can I use devotional or traditional songs freely on my channel?
Not simply because they are devotional, traditional, old, or already posted online. A song’s underlying composition and a particular sound recording are distinct rights layers. A traditional lyric or old composition does not automatically make a modern singer’s recording, arrangement, or performance free to reuse. YouTube’s copyright guidance also explains that giving credit does not itself grant permission. YouTube: Copyright and music YouTube: Common copyright myths
For an Indian devotional-music channel, check the specific work, recording, rights holder, territory, and intended live and archive uses with the relevant rights holders. The available platform guidance does not establish a universal India-specific licensing route, so do not assume one blanket permission covers every track or use.

How can the channel show original value?
Rights clearance and monetization suitability are separate checks. YouTube says its reused-content policy is separate from copyright enforcement: permission to use material does not by itself establish that a channel offers enough original value to qualify for monetization. YouTube reviewers may consider videos, descriptions, and titles. YouTube channel monetization policies
- Where possible, record or commission original devotional performances and arrangements.
- Give listeners meaningful presentation or context, and make the channel description and stream schedule explain who created the content and what the stream contains.
- Avoid building the channel around barely changed copies, pitch-shifted commercial tracks, or static slideshows repeated at scale. YouTube identifies repetitive or mass-produced material as inauthentic content that may not be eligible for monetization.
These practices can make your contribution clearer, but they do not guarantee monetization approval.
Can a 24/7 loop of devotional songs be monetized?
Possibly, but continuous playback alone does not settle eligibility. You need the necessary rights for the material, and YouTube separately reviews whether the channel meets its monetization policies, including rules on reused and repetitive content. A channel can have permission to use tracks and still face a channel-level monetization issue. YouTube channel monetization policies
What permissions should I get in India before streaming devotional songs?
Identify the rights holders for both the specific recording and the underlying musical work, then obtain permission that covers your intended use and territory. Confirm whether live transmission and archived playback are included, and keep written evidence. YouTube’s terms state: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” This is YouTube’s platform terms language, not an India-specific legal opinion. Because permissions depend on the work, recording, rights holders, territory, and use, verify coverage directly rather than treating a CD purchase, a music-service subscription, a credit line, or another channel’s upload as proof of streaming rights.
