To keep Assamese naam kirtan playing on YouTube around the clock, prepare a rights-cleared playlist, enable live streaming on your channel, then send the program through an encoder or a cloud playout service. Test the stream before sharing it, monitor its audio and health, and plan separately for replays: YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, so do not assume one uninterrupted 24/7 session will produce a complete archive.
Choose how the stream will run
There are two practical approaches for prerecorded naam kirtan: run an encoder on a computer you control, or use a cloud service that plays uploaded videos. A live singer or host can also be part of the program, but a microphone is optional when the stream is only playing recordings.

Enable live streaming early
YouTube’s current live-streaming guidance says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Creators must be at least 16 to live stream under the guidance cited here. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned launch. YouTube for Artists advises enabling a first stream at least 24 hours ahead.

Assemble recordings and visuals you can use
Make a playlist from recordings you are authorized to broadcast, and choose a suitable visual: for example, a still devotional image or a prepared video. Keep a record of permissions for the compositions, arrangements, performances, sound recordings, and visuals. A recording found online, a traditional melody, or devotional lyrics are not automatically free to rebroadcast; rights depend on the specific work, recording, permission, and territory.
If a singer or host will perform live, check the microphone and audio path during rehearsal. For prerecorded playback, a microphone is not required.

Create the YouTube broadcast and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and select Go Live. Use the Stream workflow to create a stream, or open Manage to schedule one. Scheduling can provide a shareable watch page and reminders.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key. Enter them in the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: do not show it in the stream image, paste it into public messages, or share it with anyone who should not control the broadcast.
- Set the encoder output. Select RTMPS where available; YouTube recommends this secure form of RTMP. Use a quality and bitrate your internet connection can sustain, rather than choosing the highest setting by default.
- Preview before going public. Start encoder output and check the Live Control Room preview. If the stream is scheduled or awaiting confirmation, use YouTube Studio’s control to go live when ready.
Choose stream settings that your connection can sustain
YouTube’s encoder guidance gives H.264 examples of 10 Mbps at 1080p/30 fps and 6 Mbps at 720p/60 fps. These are platform recommendations, not assurances that a particular computer or upload connection can sustain them. YouTube also recommends selecting a quality that fits the available upload connection, testing before launch, and monitoring stream health.
For a mostly static devotional visual, a high frame rate may not improve what viewers see. Test the actual audio and visual program, then choose a setting that remains stable with upload headroom. The settings guide covers protocol, codec, frame rate, keyframes, audio, and bitrate; follow its current guidance for the encoder and output you use rather than guessing at unlisted values.

Check the whole program, not just the encoder indicator
- Listen for clear, audible kirtan without clipping, unexpected silence, or excessive background noise.
- Confirm the visual is the intended image or video and does not expose the stream key or other private information.
- Check YouTube’s preview and stream-health indicators before publishing the public link.
- Run a test using the same playlist and visual behavior planned for the actual broadcast.
Test, start, and monitor the 24/7 feed
- Run an unlisted test with the intended audio and visuals.
- Verify that the preview appears, audio is audible, and the connection remains stable.
- Start the public broadcast from the encoder and, when YouTube Studio requires it, confirm Go Live in the Live Control Room.
- Monitor for stopped output, muted audio, visual problems, or a YouTube stream-health warning. Decide in advance who will respond or how the feed will be checked.
A 24/7 stream is not a substitute for a monitoring plan. A local setup depends on its computer, power, and network continuing to work; a cloud service can remove the home-computer requirement, but check the provider’s current availability, supported formats, pricing, and terms before relying on it.
Handle copyright and Content ID before broadcasting
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including material from another live broadcast. If it detects a match, it may replace the live picture with a placeholder and warn the creator to stop using the material. Continuing with matched content can interrupt or terminate the stream, and a copyright strike can also terminate a live broadcast.

A license does not necessarily stop an interruption on its own. YouTube says creators with licensed third-party material should ask the rights owner to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube for Artists also recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music. Content ID claims on an archived live stream are made after the stream ends if the creator archives it.

Plan for the replay and archive
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. The guidance cited here does not promise an archive for a single session longer than 12 hours. If you need a replay, do not assume that an uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast will create a complete one. Decide whether periodic stream endings and restarts fit your channel’s replay needs, and check the current YouTube guidance before settling on an archive workflow.

Troubleshoot common stream problems
