To loop a prerecorded jewellery product video on YouTube Live, use an encoder such as OBS Studio: add the video as a Media Source, turn on its Loop option, connect OBS to YouTube with your stream URL and key, then check the Live Control Room preview before starting the broadcast. YouTube’s ordinary Loop command only repeats playback for a viewer; it does not create a live stream.
Before you start: check your channel and video rights
- Confirm livestream access. YouTube’s general guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had a livestreaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time livestream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it before a scheduled sale: YouTube livestreaming eligibility.
- Use footage you are allowed to broadcast. Make sure you own or control the necessary rights to the product video and everything in it, including music. YouTube’s shopping guidance explicitly requires the necessary rights for livestream content: YouTube Shopping policies.
- Prepare a local video file. OBS Media Source supports formats including MP4, TS, MOV, FLV, MKV, AVI, GIF and WebM. For product footage, check that the jewellery is clearly visible and that any recorded narration or music plays as intended.
OBS and YouTube’s interface labels may appear in English even if you follow this guide in Hindi. Hindi labels in parentheses below are explanatory translations, not a claim about the exact wording in every localized interface.
Loop one product video in OBS
- Open OBS Studio and add a source in the Sources panel. Choose Media Source (मीडिया सोर्स); create a new source and give it a recognizable name, such as “Necklace video.”
- In the Media Source properties, select the local video file. Confirm that the correct file is loaded and that its image and audio appear in the OBS preview and mixer.
- Enable Loop (दोहराएँ) in the Media Source properties. OBS documents this setting as replaying the file after playback completes; its default is Off, so verify it is enabled rather than assuming the clip will repeat.
- Click OK and test playback. Let the clip reach its end and confirm it starts again. Check the join between the end and beginning for an abrupt visual or audio cut.
This method suits a single product video or a fixed promotional clip. If you need different products to appear in a sequence, use a playlist instead.
Loop a playlist of product clips
- Install VLC if it is not already installed. OBS requires VLC for its VLC Video source; 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC.
- In OBS, add a VLC Video source and create a playlist of the product clips in the order you want them shown.
- Enable Loop Playlist in the source properties, then test the sequence from beginning to end and through the restart.
- Review clip-to-clip transitions, audio levels and the order of products. When stock changes, update the playlist and test the revised sequence before the sale.
A single Media Source has the simpler setup and repeats one fixed clip. A VLC playlist lets you rotate multiple clips in a set order. In either case, inspect the joins: OBS’s loop controls repeat playback, but the supplied guidance does not establish that either method creates seamless transitions.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or select the stream for your broadcast. YouTube offers encoder-based livestreaming alongside its webcam and mobile routes; an existing prerecorded file needs an encoder workflow to be sent as a live broadcast.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the stream. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose the YouTube service if available, and enter the key—or enter the URL and key in the encoder’s matching fields. Interface details can change, so follow the fields presented by your current version.
- Treat the stream key like a password: anyone with access to it may be able to send video to that stream. Do not publish it or include it in screenshots.
- Start streaming from OBS. Wait for the incoming feed and preview in Live Control Room, then inspect the picture and sound before selecting YouTube’s control to start the broadcast.
As YouTube Help puts it, “An encoder converts your video into a digital format to stream on YouTube.” See Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder for YouTube’s encoder workflow.
Test the stream and monitor the sale
- Run a test before the event, using representative footage and audio—not just a static scene.
- Choose a stream quality your available upload connection can sustain reliably. YouTube’s guidance emphasizes reliable quality, checking the preview, and monitoring stream health and audio/video during the broadcast: YouTube live encoder settings and stream quality.
- Check that the product remains framed clearly, the clip is looping or the playlist is advancing, and sound is neither missing nor unexpectedly loud.
- Keep Live Control Room open during the event so you can watch stream health and catch a dropped or degraded feed.
End the broadcast deliberately
- When the sale is over, end the stream in Live Control Room.
- Then stop sending content from OBS. YouTube’s encoder guide says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. For an unusually long continuous broadcast, verify current archive behavior in YouTube Help before relying on an archive.
Product tags and live demonstrations are optional
Eligible creators may be able to tag products in livestreams through YouTube Shopping, but whether viewers see tags depends on channel eligibility, product delivery regions and video compliance. Check the current YouTube Shopping guidance rather than assuming tagging is available to every shop.

A webcam is not required to loop existing product footage. If you also want live close-ups or demonstrations, a camera can be an optional addition; the prerecorded-video workflow itself needs a computer, the video file, streaming software and a reliable upload connection.

The playlist source is missing
Install VLC and make sure its architecture matches OBS. The OBS documentation specifies 64-bit VLC for 64-bit OBS. Restart OBS after installation if the source still does not appear.
YouTube does not show an incoming preview
Check that OBS is sending to the intended YouTube stream and that the stream URL and key were copied into the correct encoder fields. Confirm that streaming has been enabled on the channel; first-time activation may take up to 24 hours. Keep the key private and replace it if it has been exposed.

The preview appears, but the broadcast has not started
Starting the encoder sends a feed to YouTube; it does not necessarily start the public broadcast by itself. Check the Live Control Room preview, then use its start control to begin the event.

The product clip contains music or another questionable element
Use footage and audio for which the shop has the necessary rights. A product video being locally available does not by itself establish permission to broadcast its music or other included material.
