To loop one Hindi video indefinitely, use FFmpeg’s -stream_loop -1 input option. To rotate several videos, list them in a concat-demuxer playlist and loop that input. For a live YouTube feed, read local files in real time with -re, send the output to the current RTMPS URL and stream key from YouTube Live Control Room, and keep the FFmpeg process supervised. Hindi audio does not need a special loop setting; file compatibility, YouTube’s encoding requirements, and broadcast rights matter more.
Choose a single video or a playlist
Use one input when the channel is meant to repeat the same video. Use a concat playlist when you want a fixed sequence of multiple videos. The Hindi language itself does not change FFmpeg’s demuxing or streaming procedure.
| Method | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
-stream_loop -1 on one file |
Repeating one prepared video continuously | Simple, but the repetition is obvious and a problem in the source repeats indefinitely. |
| Loop a concat playlist | Rotating several clips in a chosen order | More flexible, but the files need compatible stream properties and the list needs maintenance. |
Stream copy with -c copy |
Compatible sources that need no processing | Low CPU use, but restrictive; joins can reveal codec or timestamp issues. |
| Transcode to a common profile | Inputs that vary or need scaling, frame-rate, codec, or audio changes | Uses more processing and involves quality and latency choices; test first. |
Prepare and check your video files
Inspect your installed FFmpeg version with ffmpeg -version and review the local manual, because the online FFmpeg manual tracks current revisions and behavior can differ by release or build. Use ffprobe to inspect each file’s video and audio streams before choosing stream copy or transcoding.
For a concat-demuxer playlist, create a text file such as playlist.txt with one entry per video, in the order you want them to play:

Keep playlist paths valid from the directory where FFmpeg runs. Matching dimensions, frame rates, codecs, and audio streams make concatenation more dependable. If inputs differ, normalize them to a common profile or test the exact files before relying on an unattended stream. The concat demuxer is documented in the FFmpeg formats manual.
Send a looping FFmpeg feed to YouTube
This is a starting template for a playlist whose files need H.264/AAC encoding. Its example bitrate and GOP are not universal settings: choose values for the output resolution and frame rate, the source media, upload capacity, and YouTube’s current encoder guidance. Confirm that your FFmpeg build includes the selected encoder.

For a single file, replace the concat input with that file while keeping the loop option attached to the input:

-stream_loop -1 requests infinite looping of the input; -re reads a local file at its native rate instead of sending it as fast as possible. The example transcodes video and audio. Stream copy can reduce CPU use when the input streams are compatible with the output container and require no processing, but verify the files and joins before using -c copy. Use the current YouTube ingest details
- In YouTube Live Control Room, retrieve the current RTMPS server URL and stream key for the broadcast. YouTube recommends RTMPS for live ingest. Do not rely on a copied old endpoint.
- Set the output resolution, frame rate, codec, bitrate, and keyframe interval to match YouTube’s current live encoder settings. YouTube’s guidance checked on 2026-10-03 lists H.264, H.265, and AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; CBR; frame rates up to 60 fps; and a recommended two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds.
- For H.264, YouTube’s guidance lists 1080p at 30 fps as 5 Mbps minimum and 10 Mbps recommended; for 1080p at 60 fps, it lists 6 Mbps minimum and 17 Mbps recommended. These are YouTube’s operational recommendations, not a guarantee of stream quality. Use the exact current range for your selected codec, resolution, and frame rate.
- Keep the stream key private. Treat it like a password: do not expose it in a public script, screenshot, or post. Store it in a protected environment variable or other private configuration rather than publishing it in shell history or shared files.
Check the complete path before going public
- Run an upload speed test and make sure your connection can sustain the selected video and audio bitrate with room for network variation.
- Start an unlisted test stream with representative motion and sound. Confirm both audio and video reach YouTube and review stream health in Live Control Room.
- Watch FFmpeg’s output and local logs. Check that the process remains alive, the network stays connected, and the machine has enough disk space if you are recording locally.
- Set up process supervision and an alert or restart plan for an unattended broadcast. The loop option repeats media; it does not restart FFmpeg or recover a disconnected YouTube connection.
Plan for rights and YouTube archives
Hindi-language videos do not need a different FFmpeg loop mode, but you still need the rights to broadcast every video and its audio. Check permissions for music, performances, footage, and any other protected material before streaming. YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams explains platform copyright considerations.
Do not assume a continuous 24/7 broadcast will produce one complete YouTube archive. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured, and DVR rewind can be limited or unavailable on very long streams. If a full recording matters, record locally or plan deliberate segments, then verify the current channel and stream settings. See YouTube’s live stream archive guidance.

Troubleshoot common failures
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| The stream ends after the video reaches its end | The loop option is missing or applied to the wrong input. | Put -stream_loop -1 before the intended input, such as -i, and test the exact command with the installed FFmpeg version. |
| Playlist playback fails at a join | Files have mismatched stream properties, or playlist paths are invalid. | Check paths and file entries; inspect each file with ffprobe. Normalize incompatible sources to a common profile and test transitions. |
| YouTube does not receive a stable picture or audio | Incompatible output settings, insufficient upload capacity, or an unstable connection. | Check YouTube’s current codec, bitrate, CBR, frame-rate, and keyframe guidance; run a speed test and a representative unlisted preflight. |
| FFmpeg stops and the channel goes offline | A loop does not supervise the process or recover after a process or network failure. | Check FFmpeg logs, network stability, disk space, and process status; add a restart and alert strategy. |
| The stream is live but no complete archive appears | The broadcast exceeded YouTube’s 12-hour archiving boundary. | Record locally or segment the broadcast deliberately, and check YouTube’s current archive and DVR behavior. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If you want the DIY method, FFmpeg can loop your own files from a machine you manage. If you would rather not keep that computer and home connection running, StreamNeo keeps an uploaded-video stream live on YouTube from the cloud: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, then go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploads stream as made, up to 4K 60fps, for one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly is $9.99 per month. Start your free day on StreamNeo.
