To loop devotional meditation music on YouTube Live in India, first secure permission for the music to be livestreamed, repeated, and—if you keep the archive—replayed. Then enable livestreaming on an eligible channel and use a computer-based playback and streaming setup to repeat the audio. A devotional theme, a “free” download, or a royalty-free label alone does not establish permission.

1. Get the music rights in place before setting up the loop

YouTube scans all live streams for matches to third-party content. A match can trigger a warning and placeholder, interrupt the stream, or terminate it. YouTube says a licensed stream can still be interrupted if the rights owner has not added the channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams

Choose music you created yourself, music from the YouTube Audio Library, or third-party music whose permission explicitly covers this use. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the creator to have the necessary rights for the live content, including music licensing rights from artists, labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. Check the scope of a third-party license

Before using a track, confirm in writing that the permission covers the underlying composition and the particular sound recording, as applicable, and that it allows:

  • Broadcasting on YouTube Live, including a stream originating in India.
  • Repeating or looping the music during the stream.
  • The territory you intend to reach, or worldwide use if applicable.
  • Keeping and making the archived replay available, if you plan to retain it.

Ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist before you go live, and keep the permission and allowlist confirmation. The platform warns that a stream can be interrupted even when the creator has a license if the channel is not allowlisted. YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance

Music options and what to verify

Music source What to check
Your own original music Confirm you control the rights in the composition and recording, and that no other participant’s rights or restrictions apply.
YouTube Audio Library YouTube describes its Audio Library music as royalty-free and available in YouTube Studio. Check the specific track’s terms and attribution requirements for your intended use. YouTube Help: Tips to find safe music
Third-party music Check the license scope, both composition and recording rights where relevant, territory, loop use, replay use, and Content ID allowlisting.
Creator Music Do not use its tracks for this livestream: YouTube says Creator Music tracks are for long-form videos, not live streams or Shorts. YouTube also states its availability is for U.S. YPP creators, with expansion outside the U.S. pending. YouTube Help: Understand Creator Music usage details

A “free” label, a royalty-free description, or devotional subject matter does not by itself make a track safe for a live broadcast. YouTube specifically advises creators to check third-party licenses rather than rely on a description label. YouTube’s safe-music advice

2. Enable YouTube Live on your channel

  1. Sign in to the YouTube channel that will broadcast. The channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days.
  2. Enable livestreaming in YouTube. If you have not streamed before, activation may take up to 24 hours; check YouTube’s current setup flow and wait for access before planning the broadcast.
  3. Choose a streaming method suited to your setup. YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder, and console approaches. For a continuous audio loop controlled from a computer, use an encoder workflow that can take the playback source and send it to YouTube Live.
  4. In YouTube Studio’s live control room, create or schedule the stream and retrieve the stream key for your encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel.

YouTube’s eligibility and setup details are in Get started with live streaming. The reviewed YouTube guidance does not specify a separate India-only process for looping audio.

3. Build and check the repeating audio before going public

  1. Prepare the audio or a playlist using a playback and streaming workflow that supports continuous repeat. The exact loop control depends on the software you choose; the YouTube guidance cited here does not document a particular encoder’s controls.
  2. Connect the playback audio to the encoder’s stream input, then enter the YouTube stream key in the encoder’s stream settings.
  3. Before the public broadcast, preview or test the output and listen across a repeat point. Confirm that the next item or repeat begins as intended and that the audio reaches the stream output.
  4. Start the encoder and verify in YouTube’s live control room that the incoming stream is detected. Then start the live broadcast using YouTube’s current control-room flow.

Do not assume that creating a playlist guarantees a seamless transition. Check the actual output in your chosen workflow; available loop controls and testing steps vary by software.

4. Decide whether to keep an archive

If you retain the livestream as a replay, verify that your rights cover that recording too. YouTube says archived livestreams can receive Content ID claims after the stream ends; claims can block, monetize, or track a video, and their effects may differ by country or region. 5. Understand the India-specific religious-ceremony exception

The Copyright Act, 1957 defines communication to the public broadly and gives rights holders control over communication of sound recordings to the public. It also contains an exception concerning performance or communication of works or sound recordings in the course of a bona fide religious ceremony. The statutory wording does not establish that a devotional-music livestream, an always-on meditation stream, or its archived replay necessarily qualifies.

Do not treat devotional style as blanket permission to broadcast copyrighted music. If the exception is material to your specific event, consult an India-qualified lawyer and check the current consolidated Act. The official provisions are available from the Government of India’s Copyright Office: Chapter I, Chapter III, and Chapter XI.

6. Troubleshoot interruptions and claims

Or let it run in the cloud

If you want a pre-recorded devotional music program to stay live without leaving a computer on at home, StreamNeo runs a YouTube stream from uploaded videos in the cloud: upload your recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It does not broadcast a live camera feed.
