To keep an Indian restaurant’s Malayalam menu video repeating for everyone watching a YouTube Live broadcast, loop the video in streaming software such as OBS Studio, then send that feed to YouTube Live. YouTube’s built-in Loop control only repeats playback for the individual viewer who enables it; it does not make your channel broadcast a live loop.
Choose the right kind of loop

For a restaurant promotion that should appear as a channel’s live stream, use the second method.
Prepare the Malayalam menu video
Check the content before streaming
- Use a video the restaurant owns or has permission to broadcast, including any music, photographs, logos, or other material in it. Live content must follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and content guidance.
- Check item names, prices, availability, and dietary notes against the current menu. Replace or update the video when those details change.
- Make sure Malayalam text is large and readable at the screen sizes customers are likely to use. Listen to the audio to confirm it is clear and in Malayalam.
Use the Malayalam version itself as the source if Malayalam is the required broadcast language. YouTube’s preferred-language settings do not change the audio a creator sends in a live feed. A viewer can select another audio track only when one is available; YouTube’s language guidance does not establish that alternate tracks are available for every live broadcast. Loop a single video in OBS
- Install and open OBS Studio. Create a scene for the menu stream.
- Add the video source. In the scene’s Sources area, select + → Media Source, create a source, and choose the local menu video file.
- Enable looping. In the Media Source properties, turn on Loop, then confirm the source. OBS documents Media Source options at obsproject.com/kb/media-sources.
- Check the scene. Confirm the video fits the canvas, plays correctly, and has audible, intelligible Malayalam audio if audio is part of the menu presentation.
Loop a playlist of menu videos
If the restaurant has several short videos—for example, food categories, daily specials, or location information—use OBS’s VLC Video source. VLC must be installed for this source to appear in OBS.

- Install VLC, then in OBS select + in Sources → VLC Video.
- Add the video files in the order you want them to play.
- Enable Loop Playlist in the source properties and confirm the source.
- Preview the whole sequence or enough of it to check the order, transitions, text, and audio before broadcasting.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. It also states that streamers must be at least 16. Review YouTube’s current live-streaming requirements before scheduling.
- Create or schedule the live stream. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go live and choose the encoder workflow. Exact screen placement may change; YouTube’s current steps are in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Copy the connection details. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room into OBS’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: anyone with it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Do not publish or share it.
- Start the encoder feed. Start streaming in OBS, then wait for the Live Control Room preview to appear.
- Inspect before going live. Check that the right video is playing, menu text is legible, and Malayalam audio is clear. Once the preview is correct, choose Go live in YouTube Studio.
Monitor the broadcast and plan for long streams
Check the Live Control Room while the stream is running for stream health and accessibility, and listen or watch from a viewer’s perspective when practical. YouTube recommends checking the preview and monitoring audio and video quality in its live-streaming tips.

YouTube automatically archives encoder streams that run for less than 12 hours. For streams longer than 12 hours, DVR pause and rewind may be limited or unavailable, so do not promise viewers they will be able to rewind a very long broadcast. Troubleshoot common problems
