To loop several Indian music videos from your computer in an OBS YouTube Live broadcast, add the files to an OBS VLC Video source playlist, enable Loop Playlist, and leave Shuffle Playlist off for a fixed sequence. VLC must be installed, and its architecture must match OBS. For a single video, use OBS’s built-in Media Source and enable its Loop option.
Choose the right OBS source

This method is for video files stored on the computer running OBS, not a folder link or YouTube playlist URL. OBS documents adding media to a VLC Video playlist, but does not document automatic folder discovery or keeping the playlist synchronized with changes to a folder. [OBS: Media Sources]
Prepare OBS, VLC, and the video files
Install compatible software
Install OBS and VLC before configuring the playlist. The VLC Video source depends on VLC libraries; OBS specifically notes that 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC for the source to be available. If VLC Video is missing, check that VLC is installed and its architecture matches OBS. [OBS: Media Sources]

Check your files
OBS lists common Media Source video formats including MP4, MKV, MOV, AVI, FLV, TS, GIF, and WebM, and audio formats including MP3, AAC, OGG, and WAV. A listed container does not guarantee every codec inside it will decode on every computer. Test each file locally before relying on it for a live broadcast. [OBS: Media Sources]

Create a looping playlist in OBS
- Choose the broadcast scene. In OBS, select the scene that will carry the music-video playback.
- Add the source. In the Sources panel, select + and choose VLC Video. Give the source a recognizable name.
- Add the files. In the source properties, add the video files you want in the playlist and arrange them in the intended sequence. The playlist comprises files you add; do not assume selecting a folder will import its contents automatically.
- Set repeat and order. Turn on Loop Playlist. Keep Shuffle Playlist off if you want the listed order, or turn it on if randomized playback is acceptable. OBS documents Loop Playlist as on by default and Shuffle Playlist as off by default, but confirm both settings in the source properties. [OBS: Media Sources]
- Fit the video to the canvas. Select the source in the preview and use the transform options to fit it to the scene. Check for cropping, black bars, or unwanted overlays at the output resolution you plan to use.
- Check audio in OBS. Play a sample and watch the audio meter in the Audio Mixer. Confirm the intended audio is present and not muted. This is a practical preflight check, not a guarantee that the public YouTube stream will receive the audio correctly.
For a single file instead, add a Media Source, select the file, and enable Loop in its properties. [OBS: Media Sources]
Connect OBS to a YouTube Live event
Confirm channel eligibility
YouTube’s current getting-started guidance requires a verified channel and no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Check the channel’s Live access before planning the broadcast; YouTube may require time to enable access after verification. Copy the event’s stream settings
- In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create a live event or select the event you intend to use.
- Copy the event’s stream URL and stream key from YouTube’s encoder settings.
- In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select YouTube as the service, and enter the stream settings as prompted. YouTube’s encoder workflow provides the event connection details. [YouTube Help: Go live with an encoder]
- Treat the stream key like a password: do not show it in a screen capture, share it, or leave it visible during a tutorial or desktop broadcast. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio before streaming.
Use the event’s own key and settings rather than assuming an old key, a different event, or a default OBS configuration is appropriate. [YouTube Help: Go live with an encoder]

Check the broadcast before going public
- Preview in Live Control Room. Check that YouTube receives picture and audio before starting the public event. Verify event accessibility and monitor audio and video quality during the broadcast. [YouTube Help: Troubleshoot live stream issues]
- Allow upload headroom. YouTube recommends upload capacity 20% above the total stream bitrate. Account for the complete outgoing stream, not just one video file’s bitrate. [YouTube Help: Troubleshoot live stream issues]
- Keep the computer and connection available. OBS reads and plays the local files and sends the encoded stream continuously. Looping the playlist does not itself keep the internet connection stable or guarantee that the YouTube event stays live.
- Watch the playlist transition and audio. Verify that the next file plays as expected and that sound remains audible. The official OBS documentation does not promise seamless transitions or exact synchronization with the public stream.
Confirm rights before looping Indian music videos
Playback settings do not grant permission to broadcast a song or video. YouTube’s live-stream terms say: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” This is YouTube’s contractual requirement, not a determination that a particular license covers your use. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. It may replace the stream with a placeholder image, temporarily interrupt it, or terminate the broadcast. Even licensed material may be interrupted if the rights owner has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID. Resolve the relevant rights and any required allowlisting with the rights owner before going live. [YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams]
Troubleshoot common OBS playlist problems
