To watch a baseball game on YouTube, search for “MLB” in the YouTube app, open the MLB channel, and choose a live game thumbnail, or visit youtube.com/mlb. Which games are available changes; check the channel or the official schedule rather than relying on an old game count. If you mean broadcasting footage of a game on your own channel, first make sure you have the necessary rights: filming or having a streaming setup does not grant permission to rebroadcast a professional game.
Where can I watch MLB live on YouTube?
- In the YouTube app: Search for “MLB,” select the MLB channel, then look for a live game thumbnail.
- On the web: Visit youtube.com/mlb and check for a live game.
These steps find games made available through the official MLB YouTube channel. They do not mean every MLB game is streamed there, or that a game will be available in every location. Check the current channel or official schedule for a particular matchup.
YouTube Help’s statement that 21 games were available on YouTube during the 2022 MLB season referred to that season only; it is not a current-season count or a promise of availability.
Could YouTube TV carry the game instead?
YouTube TV is a separate live-TV service, not the free YouTube video platform. A game may be carried through a regional sports network, local affiliate, or national network. Whether you can watch it depends on the game, the networks carried in your area, and your location.

If you travel, YouTube TV says MLB viewers should use the service in their home area at least once every 30 days to avoid game-related viewing restrictions. Check the service’s current channel and location guidance for your circumstances: YouTube TV location requirements.
Can I stream a baseball game on my YouTube channel?
Only if you have the necessary rights and approvals for the footage and audio. Pointing a camera at a professional game, capturing a television broadcast, or rebroadcasting another live stream does not give you permission to publish it. YouTube says live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including another live broadcast. It may replace a stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. Even a licensed third-party stream can be interrupted if the rights holder has not allowlisted your channel. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility for necessary rights and applicable approvals on the content provider. Confirm your rights with the relevant rights holder before going live; do not assume that permission to attend, record, or watch a game includes permission to broadcast it.

Why is a baseball game unavailable in my area?
- It is not being offered on YouTube: The MLB channel’s live thumbnails show streams available there; a game’s existence on the schedule does not establish that it is on YouTube.
- The game is carried by a different network: YouTube TV coverage depends on the local or regional channels available in your area and on which network carries the matchup.
- Your location affects access: YouTube TV’s location rules can affect viewing, including when traveling. Check the service’s current location guidance and use it in your home area as required.
