Larix Broadcaster supports background streaming on Android by default, and its developer says it continues until you explicitly close the app. If your stream stops when you lock a Vivo phone, check Larix’s background and battery permissions, Android’s battery mode for the app, and Vivo’s own power controls. The exact Vivo menus vary by model and software version.
Start the stream, then lock the phone
- Open Larix Broadcaster while the Vivo phone is unlocked and connect to your streaming destination.
- Confirm that the stream is live before locking the screen.
- Lock the screen and check the stream from another device, if possible. Larix’s FAQ says Android background streaming is available by default and continues unless you explicitly close the app: Softvelum’s Larix FAQ. That does not guarantee uninterrupted streaming on every Vivo configuration.
Check Android’s battery setting for Larix
Android provides app-level battery modes: Unrestricted, Optimized (the default), and Restricted. Restricted mode prevents background operation, so check that Larix is not set to Restricted. Android’s documentation describes these modes at Background optimization.
The route to the setting can differ by Android release and Vivo software. In Settings, search for Larix or for battery/app battery usage, then open Larix’s battery controls if available. Consider allowing background use or choosing a less restrictive mode for Larix, then test the stream again. Android notes that manufacturers can apply additional restrictions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsLook for Vivo background-power controls
Vivo’s support index identifies a “High background power consumption” control, but does not provide one universal menu path for all phones. In Settings, search for “Larix,” “battery,” or “background” and inspect any app-specific background-use or power-management controls. Names and availability vary by model and software version. See vivo Global’s battery and background-power support index.

- Precise cutouts are designed for easy access to all ports, buttons and camera. The buttons are soft, responsive and easy to press, and are easy to install and remove.
After changing a setting, start a fresh stream and lock the screen to check whether it continues. If a control is missing, consult the manual or Vivo support for your specific model; the exact phone, Android version, and Funtouch OS or OriginOS version determine which options you may see.
If the stream still stops
- Make sure Larix was not closed. The Larix FAQ describes background streaming until the app is explicitly closed. Avoid closing it while the stream is active.
- Review power-saving features. A system-wide or app-specific power-saving setting may limit background activity. Temporarily allow Larix to run in the background and test again.
- Check the connection. Weak mobile signal can affect a live stream and increase power use. If possible, test with a steadier connection.
- Separate battery drain from app restriction. Live streaming, mobile data, background activity, and weak signal can increase battery consumption. vivo discusses these factors in its battery and standby-time support guidance.
- Use a power bank only if battery capacity is the problem. A compatible power bank can extend a session, but it will not prevent Android or Vivo from stopping a restricted app.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep uploaded video streaming on YouTube, StreamNeo is a different approach from Larix: Larix streams from your phone, while StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud.
