You can keep a prerecorded product demonstration visible on YouTube Live after closing by sending the video through an encoder or a service designed to loop prerecorded media. The practical choices are a cloud service such as StreamNeo, a computer running streaming software, or hardware that supports scheduled prerecorded playback. YouTube does not guarantee unattended uptime, so test the full setup and arrange a way to notice interruptions before relying on it overnight.
Can you stream a prerecorded product demo live on YouTube 24/7?
Yes. A suitable encoder or compatible service can send a prerecorded demo to YouTube Live as a continuous broadcast. YouTube lists software, cloud, and hardware options, including OBS in its HLS encoder list, Gyre for cloud-based 24/7 prerecorded streaming, and AJA HELO Plus with optional PlayToStream functionality for scheduling prerecorded media directly to YouTube Live without a computer. These are different workflows, not a tested ranking; YouTube’s documentation does not establish their comparative prices, reliability, or ease of use. YouTube’s encoder guidance and HLS encoder guidance describe the listed capabilities.
For an unattended shop broadcast, the key distinction is what must keep working after you leave: a computer and its software, a cloud service, or a hardware encoder. Whichever you choose, the demo still needs an active internet connection to reach YouTube, and a person or monitoring process should be able to detect and respond to problems.
Choose a way to keep the demo running
| Approach | Local computer needed? | Prerecorded scheduling or looping | What to plan for |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo cloud service | No computer needs to stay on at the shop. | Loops uploaded videos and playlists for YouTube. | Cloud-service and internet dependence; test the stream and plan how you will notice a disruption. |
| Software encoder, such as OBS | Yes. The computer running the encoder must remain on and connected. | Depends on the software and workflow you configure; YouTube’s listing of OBS establishes it as an encoder, not a particular looping or scheduling setup. | Power, computer, software, network, and monitoring at the shop. |
| Cloud prerecorded-stream service, such as Gyre | Not for the ongoing cloud stream. | YouTube describes Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos. | Service and network dependence; YouTube’s listing does not establish comparative prices or measured uptime. |
| AJA HELO Plus with PlayToStream | YouTube describes the listed prerecorded scheduling functionality as operating without a computer. | YouTube says the optional PlayToStream functionality allows prerecorded media to be scheduled and streamed directly to YouTube Live. | Hardware setup, network, and monitoring; YouTube’s listing does not establish comparative prices or measured uptime. |
StreamNeo is #1 for a hands-off YouTube loop: it keeps uploaded videos running from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and includes a free first day.
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Nintendo Switch 2’s new GameChat mode
- Crisp HD 720p/30 fps video calls with diagonal 55° field of view and auto light correction. Compatible with popular platforms including Skype and Zoom.
- The built-in noise-reducing mic makes sure your voice comes across clearly up to 1.5 meters away, even if you’re in busy surroundings.
- C270’s RightLight 2 feature adjusts to lighting conditions, producing brighter, contrasted images to help you look good in all your conference calls.
- The adjustable universal clip lets you attach the camera securely to your screen or laptop, or fold the clip and set the webcam on a shelf. You’re always ready for your next video call.
There is no source-backed universal winner among these approaches. A computer encoder suits a workflow where you can leave a dedicated machine operating and monitor it. Cloud or compatible hardware options can remove the need to leave a shop computer running. Choose based on your setup, controls, and ability to notice failures, rather than assuming any option guarantees uninterrupted broadcasting.
Prepare your YouTube channel and stream
- Check eligibility. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until closing time. See YouTube’s live-streaming enablement guidance.
- Create the broadcast in YouTube Studio. Set up the live stream in Live Control Room and choose the workflow appropriate to your encoder or service. YouTube’s encoder setup page explains using the stream URL and stream key with an encoder.
- Enter the stream URL and key only in the intended encoder or service. YouTube says stream keys are like your stream’s “password and address.” Keep the key private; if it is exposed, reset it in the stream settings and update the encoder that uses it. Details are in Manage live stream settings.
- Set auto-start and auto-stop deliberately. YouTube provides these controls for applicable encoder or mobile streams. Their behavior depends on the workflow, so configure and test them rather than assuming they will start or end the broadcast at the right time.
Set encoder quality for the shop’s actual connection
Use a quality your upload connection can sustain, not simply the highest resolution the demo file supports. YouTube transcodes incoming video for viewer playback, and its recommended encoder settings specify:
Rank #2
- Compatible with Nintendo Switch 2’s new GameChat mode
- Auto-Light Balance: RightLight boosts brightness by up to 50%, reducing shadows so you look your best—compared to previous-generation Logitech webcams (1)
- Privacy with a Slide: The integrated webcam cover makes it easy to get total, reliable privacy when you're not on a video call
- Built-In Mic: The built-in microphone lets others hear you clearly during video calls
- Easy Plug-And-Play: The Brio 101 works with most video calling platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet—no hassle; it just works
- Video codec: H.264.
- Audio codec: AAC or MP3.
- Bitrate control: constant bitrate (CBR).
- Keyframe interval: two seconds recommended; do not exceed four seconds.
Choose resolution and bitrate together, then test under conditions representative of the shop’s real upload connection. A setting that works briefly during a quiet period may not be suitable for a long unattended run if bandwidth varies. YouTube does not make maximum resolution a requirement for a stable stream.
Test the complete overnight workflow before closing
- Use the actual demo file and planned playback workflow. Confirm that the file plays from beginning to end, loops or schedules as intended, and includes the audio you expect viewers to hear.
- Start the real destination stream. Check the Live Control Room preview and verify that the YouTube watch page is accessible to the intended audience.
- Inspect stream health. Watch for YouTube warnings and check both picture and sound. YouTube recommends representative movement and audio in testing and monitoring stream quality.
- Leave enough time to observe behavior. Test the relevant start, stop, scheduling, or loop controls instead of assuming settings will behave as expected after you leave.
- Plan detection and response. Decide who will check the broadcast, how they will learn it has stopped or degraded, and how they can restart or correct it. YouTube’s guidance does not promise that every interruption will recover automatically.
Use YouTube’s streaming setup tips alongside its encoder settings when preparing the test.

Understand long-stream archive and rewind limits
YouTube automatically archives streams that are under 12 hours. For streams longer than 12 hours, DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable. Treat a continuous overnight or multi-day loop as a live viewing option, not as a guarantee of one complete, rewindable recording. Check YouTube’s archive and DVR guidance when deciding how viewers should access the demo after the live broadcast.
Check rights, privacy, and shop-specific content
Before broadcasting, confirm that you have permission to use every video and audio element in the demo. Avoid showing customer information, confidential screens, or material that should not be public. The YouTube setup guidance does not resolve the rights or privacy status of a particular recording, so review the actual footage and its licenses before putting it on a public or unlisted stream.

Troubleshoot common failures
- You cannot start a stream: Confirm channel verification and live-stream enablement, and check for restrictions in the previous 90 days. If this is the first enablement, allow up to 24 hours.
- The encoder does not connect: Check that it has the correct YouTube stream URL and current stream key. If the key may have been exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and replace it in the encoder or service.
- The preview is unstable or YouTube reports stream health issues: Recheck the shop’s upload capacity and use a lower resolution or bitrate that the connection can sustain. Confirm H.264 video, AAC or MP3 audio, CBR, and a keyframe interval of two seconds (never over four).
- There is no sound or the picture is wrong: Test the actual demo file and inspect the Live Control Room preview before closing. Verify the selected audio and video sources and codecs in the encoder.
- The loop ends or fails to restart: Recheck the service’s loop or schedule configuration and YouTube’s applicable auto-start and auto-stop controls. Test the exact workflow and arrange a way to notice a stopped broadcast.
- Viewers cannot rewind or find a complete archive: A stream longer than 12 hours may have limited or unavailable DVR rewind; only streams under 12 hours are automatically archived under YouTube’s stated guidance.
