First identify what you are playing: the installed Halo Infinite PC game and Halo Infinite streamed through Xbox Cloud Gaming are different cases. PC graphics settings can help with low frame rates or stutter while the game renders on your computer; they will not fix delay caused by cloud streaming or your network. Xbox lists Halo Infinite on Cloud Gaming, but that is streamed play—not an installed browser port. The available official guidance does not establish that all unofficial browser-based Halo ports use the same game or technology.
Identify whether the problem is PC performance or streaming lag
Start with where the game is rendered. In the installed PC version, your computer renders the game, so graphics settings and hardware are relevant. In Xbox Cloud Gaming, the game is streamed, so sluggish visuals or delayed response may involve the stream rather than local game rendering. The official Halo graphics guidance applies to the installed PC game, while Xbox lists Halo Infinite for Cloud Gaming.
Describe the symptom before changing settings: a persistently low frame rate or choppy animation points toward local rendering if you are playing the installed PC version; delayed response in a cloud session should be treated separately from PC graphics performance. These clues are not a validated test that pinpoints the source of delay.
Improve performance in the installed PC game
Reduce rendering work
In Halo Infinite’s video settings guidance, Halo Support says lowering render scale below 100% can improve performance. The trade-off is reduced image clarity. Change it gradually and check whether the result is acceptable on your system; the documented effect is not a guaranteed gain on every PC.

Try a lower frame-rate cap
If frame delivery feels uneven, try a lower maximum frame-rate cap. Halo’s settings guidance says a lower maximum can produce a smoother, more consistent experience. This is an option to assess against your own system, not a promise that lowering the cap will improve every performance problem.
Use the low preset and check system requirements
When performance matters more than visual detail, Halo Support recommends the low graphics preset for maximum performance capability. Check the game’s official PC hardware specifications against your computer rather than assuming generic browser-port advice applies.

Update drivers and repair game files if needed
Keep your graphics drivers current. If the trouble started after modifying game files, Halo Support recommends repairing the app or verifying the Steam installation; reinstalling may help if those steps do not resolve the issue. Check specific hitch-related features only when applicable
Halo Support identifies AMD Radeon Anti-Lag as a possible source of hitches on some systems. It also lists disabling hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling as a workaround for a specific performance issue on Windows 10. These are conditional checks, not universal recommendations: consult Halo’s documented performance guidance and apply them only if your system and symptom match the cases described.

Reduce lag in Halo Infinite through a browser
Confirm that you are using Xbox Cloud Gaming
Xbox lists Halo Infinite for Cloud Gaming. Check the current Xbox listing for availability and subscription terms. Playing this way is a streaming session, so lowering the installed PC game’s render scale is not a general fix for stream delay.
Separate stream response from controller trouble
If the stream displays smoothly but controls feel unresponsive, the input device or its connection may be relevant. Xbox provides a tested-controller resource for Cloud Gaming; consult it for current compatibility information rather than assuming a particular model is supported. A controller check is relevant to input-device problems only. It cannot resolve network or cloud-streaming latency by itself.

Avoid unsupported network and browser tweaks
The available Xbox network troubleshooting result does not provide readable instructions sufficient to substantiate a minimum connection speed, a preferred Wi-Fi band, a browser-cache fix, or a region/server selection step.
