To improve Garmin Venu X1 battery life, first check the Battery Manager glance to see which features are using power, then adjust the settings you actually use. The biggest factors in Garmin’s estimates are the display configuration during smartwatch use and satellite mode and music during recorded activities. Garmin lists up to 8 days in smartwatch mode with its default display configuration, compared with up to 2 days with Always On enabled; these are manufacturer estimates, not a promise of how long every watch will last.
Check what is draining the battery first
The Battery Manager glance can show the Venu X1’s battery percentage, estimated remaining time, drain rate, recent charge and drain history, and a list of contributing features. Add or open it from the watch’s glance list. If a listed feature has settings available, selecting it may take you to those settings. Labels and navigation can vary with software, so use the current on-watch menu or the Venu X1 owner’s manual and support information if the steps differ.
Change one likely contributor at a time and then check Battery Manager again. That makes it easier to tell whether an adjustment helped, instead of disabling features you may want without knowing whether they affected drain.

Adjust the display if it is a major contributor
Garmin estimates up to 8 days in smartwatch mode with the default display configuration and up to 2 days with Always On enabled. These are estimates based on Garmin’s stated usage assumptions, not independent test results or guaranteed personal battery life. If Battery Manager points to display use, try lowering brightness and avoid waking the screen when you do not need it. Garmin does not specify how many extra days any individual display adjustment will provide.
Choose activity settings for the recording you need
GPS and music can shorten battery life while recording an activity. Garmin’s estimates for the Venu X1 are up to 16 hours in GPS-only mode without music, up to 14 hours in All Systems mode without music, and up to 7 hours with music in either listed satellite mode. Choose the satellite mode that suits the route and accuracy you need; leave music off during an activity if you do not need it.

Flashlight or strobe use is excluded and has a significant impact on battery life. Garmin’s model-specific assumptions are listed on its Venu X1 Battery Life Assumptions page.
Review optional features and sensors
Garmin’s general guidance for its wearables identifies Pulse Ox, Connect IQ apps and watch faces, vibration, wireless connections, and flashlight use as possible battery contributors. Consider reducing or disabling only features you do not need, then check whether drain changes.
