Screen brightness, time spent with the display on, network conditions, apps, and settings all affect how long a Galaxy S25 Ultra lasts per charge, so no single setting guarantees the same result for every owner.
How to improve Galaxy S25 Ultra battery life
Use this sequence to identify the biggest drain and change only what you need. Menu names and locations can vary with One UI, Android, market, and carrier software.

Check which apps and services are using power
Open Settings > Battery and review the battery-use information. Look for an app or service that is persistently high compared with how much you used it. Reduce display use where it suits you
Lower brightness and shorten the screen timeout if the display stays bright or on when you are not using it. Samsung identifies high brightness and a long timeout as factors that can reduce battery life. You can also turn off Always On Display if you do not find it useful. Keep your preferred screen resolution unless you specifically want to test whether changing it helps your routine.

Try Standard refresh rate if you can accept less-smooth scrolling
The S25 Ultra has a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive refresh up to 120 Hz, according to Samsung’s 2025 Galaxy S25 series specification sheet. A lower refresh rate may use less power, but scrolling and animations can feel less fluid. In Tom’s Guide’s continuous 5G web-browsing test at 150 nits, the S25 Ultra lasted 17 hours 14 minutes in its reported standard/adaptive mode and 18 hours 35 minutes at 60 Hz—a difference of 1 hour 21 minutes under that test’s conditions. Restrict background activity selectively
For apps that do not need to update promptly, Samsung’s battery settings offer sleeping and deep sleeping categories. Sleeping apps use less power because they are prevented from operating freely in the background; deep sleeping limits them further. Do not put messaging, navigation, health, security, or other time-sensitive apps into deep sleep if delayed updates or notifications would be a problem. Turn on Power saving when you need extra runtime
Samsung describes enabling Power saving from the Quick panel as an easy way to reduce power use. Its effects can be adjusted, so review which restrictions are enabled and decide what you can tolerate. It is an on-demand option for a long day away from a charger, rather than a reason to permanently disable features you use.

Set Battery protection for long-term battery lifespan
Battery protection concerns how the battery is charged over time; it is separate from settings intended to extend the current charge. Samsung states: “Charging your battery to 100% for a long period can reduce its lifespan.” Its UK support guidance describes Basic and Maximum options and also Adaptive protection. A lower charge ceiling means less capacity available for that day, so choose according to whether daily capacity or long-term battery lifespan matters more to you. Why is my Galaxy S25 Ultra battery draining so fast?
First check the battery-use list rather than turning off every feature. A recently installed or heavily used app, sustained screen use, or demanding network conditions can all affect runtime. Samsung notes that a new Galaxy phone may behave differently as apps and usage patterns settle, but that general guidance does not guarantee that unusual drain will resolve after a fixed number of days.
If the drain persists
- Review Settings > Battery again and check whether the same app or service remains unusually high.
- Update your phone’s software and apps, then see whether the pattern changes.
- Use Samsung Members to run available diagnostics or report the behavior.
- If a particular app or suspected hardware issue continues to cause abnormal drain, contact Samsung support rather than repeatedly disabling unrelated features. Samsung’s troubleshooting guidance covers these steps.
Would a USB-C power bank help?
A compatible USB-C power bank can provide an extra recharge when you are away from an outlet, but it does not make the S25 Ultra more efficient per charge or fix the cause of unusual drain. Check compatibility before buying one.
