You can hide WooCommerce prices store-wide, show them only to logged-in customers, or apply rules to specific products and wholesale roles. The right setup depends on whether guests should still see products, whether customers may add items to their cart, and whether you want to offer a login prompt or quote request instead.

Choose what visitors should see

Price hiding is not the same as hiding a product or making a store private. Decide on the intended guest experience before changing settings:

  • Hide prices: Visitors can browse products, but prices are replaced or omitted. Depending on the extension and setting, Add to Cart may also be removed.
  • Show prices after login: Logged-out visitors can browse, while approved or registered customers see prices after signing in.
  • Hide products: Products or the shop itself are unavailable to guests or selected customer groups.
  • Request a quote: Visitors can ask for pricing instead of seeing a price and purchasing directly.

These outcomes are separate controls in WooCommerce’s documented Hide Prices & Private Store options.

Hide prices for everyone or show them only after login

For a store-wide rule, WooCommerce’s Catalog Visibility Options extension documents controls under WooCommerce > Settings > Visibility Options. This is an extension feature, not a setting guaranteed to be present in every standard WooCommerce installation.

  1. Install and configure Catalog Visibility Options for your store.
  2. Open WooCommerce > Settings > Visibility Options.
  3. Set price visibility to Enabled to display prices normally, Disabled to hide them, or Enabled for Logged In Users to show prices only to signed-in users.
  4. If desired, configure replacement text for the hidden price and Add to Cart button, then save the settings.

In this extension, choosing Disabled or Enabled for Logged In Users also automatically disables Add to Cart. That is useful when guests must not purchase, but it is more than a visual price change: check whether the resulting cart behavior matches your sales process.

Hide prices, products, or the whole site from guests

If you need a broader guest-access policy, the documented Hide Prices & Private Store for WooCommerce modes distinguish among hiding prices, hiding the shop and products, requiring login to access the website, and replacing prices with a quote-request path. Its price-hiding behavior removes Add to Cart and can display configurable replacement text.

Choose a mode according to the access you want to grant. A private catalog is appropriate when guests should not browse products; hiding prices is more suitable when you want them to discover the catalog but not see pricing. A quote option provides a way to continue the conversation without presenting a direct checkout price.

Apply rules to wholesale customers, products, or locations

For a B2B store that also serves retail customers, a single store-wide rule may be too broad. WooCommerce’s Wholesale for WooCommerce store-owner guide describes hiding prices for selected products, categories, or user roles, as well as hiding wholesale products from visitors and non-wholesale customers. Its Wholesale for WooCommerce documentation also covers wholesale roles, pricing, and product and price visibility.

For catalog rules that need more specific targeting, WooCommerce’s Extend B2B – Catalog documentation describes rules based on products or categories, customers or roles, and geographic location. The available targeting and priority behavior depends on the extension and its configuration; use the relevant documentation to set the rule for your installation.

Test the result before relying on it

After configuring visibility, verify the storefront as each audience that matters. Use a private browser window or log out to test guest behavior, then sign in with representative customer and wholesale accounts.

  • Check both the shop or category archive and individual product pages.
  • Confirm whether the price, replacement text, Add to Cart button, and quote or login prompt appear as intended.
  • Try the purchase path for each role to confirm that cart and checkout access matches the rule.
  • If the site uses caching, a custom theme, a headless storefront, or other integrations, test those paths too.

The cited WooCommerce documentation describes storefront visibility and purchase controls; it does not establish whether a hidden price remains available through APIs, cached pages, product feeds, structured data, or custom integrations. If prices must be confidential rather than merely absent from the visible storefront, verify those data paths for your specific setup.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
