Hide XHR and Fetch entries in the Cypress App
- Open the test in the Cypress App.
- In the Command Log header, select Options.
- Deselect Show HTTP Requests.
Cypress introduced this display option in version 15.4. It changes what the Command Log shows, not the test’s network behavior: requests continue to run, and you can still use cy.intercept() to spy on or stub them. See Cypress’s announcement for the App option.
Choose code-level logging control when it fits
If you want logging behavior configured in the test rather than using the App’s visibility preference, Cypress documents log: false for intercepts. This controls Command Log entries, not whether the browser sends the request.
Suppress logs for matched XHR and Fetch traffic
cy.intercept({ resourceType: /xhr|fetch/ }, { log: false })This is Cypress’s documented catch-all pattern. However, the cy.intercept() API reference marks resourceType deprecated since Cypress 14. Check that reference against your installed Cypress version before relying on this matcher. Cypress says logging is configured when the intercept is defined, not from inside its callback.

Suppress logging for one static stub
For a particular intercepted route with a static response, pass log: false with the response:
cy.intercept('GET', '/api/items', { log: false, body: [] })The network requests guide documents placing log: false alongside a static response. This is scoped to that route; it is not a global filter for all requests.

Hide a cy.request() command entry separately
cy.request() has its own log option, which defaults to true. Set it to false in the command options to hide that command’s entry:
cy.request({ url: '/api/health', log: false })This is distinct from hiding browser-originated XHR and Fetch entries. Cypress issues cy.request() from its Node process, outside the browser proxy used by cy.intercept(). See the cy.request() API reference and the Cypress App FAQ.

Troubleshooting
The HTTP request entries are still visible
Confirm that you changed the Show HTTP Requests option in the Command Log header’s Options menu. If the Cypress version is older than 15.4, the App toggle is not documented as available; use a supported code-level option instead.
Turning off the option did not stop network traffic
That is expected. The App option hides entries from view; it does not block requests. Use cy.intercept() when you need to observe or stub browser requests.

The resourceType matcher does not work as expected
Because Cypress marks resourceType deprecated since version 14, verify compatibility in the current API reference for your installed release. For one static route, the documented log: false response option avoids using that catch-all matcher.
A cy.request() entry remains in the log
Set log: false on the cy.request() call itself. An intercept for browser XHR and Fetch traffic does not control this Node-issued command.

Cypress announced the App visibility option on November 6, 2025, for Cypress 15.4 and later. The Cypress release listing records Cypress 16.0.0 as released September 1, 2026. Confirm behavior against the release installed in your project, especially for the deprecated resourceType property.
