To reload a page in Chrome on Android, open it, tap More, then tap Refresh or Reload. Google’s Android help pages document this ordinary reload action, but do not describe a separate hard-refresh command. If reloading does not fix a stale or broken page, use Incognito to test whether browser data may be involved, then consider clearing cached images and files.
How do I hard refresh Chrome on Android?
Chrome’s documented Android instructions provide a normal reload, not a dedicated desktop-style “hard refresh” that guarantees every cached resource is bypassed. Google’s Android connection and loading troubleshooting guide says to refresh from the More menu. Treat that as the first step; if the page remains stale, work through the diagnostic options below rather than assuming reload emptied the cache.
How do I reload a page in Chrome?

Open the page you want to refresh in Chrome on your Android device.

Tap More (the three-dot menu).

Tap Refresh or Reload. Google uses both labels in its Android help pages: Fix connection and loading errors says “Refresh,” while Manage tabs in Chrome says “Reload.”

What to try if the page is still stale or won’t load
A reload not fixing the problem does not by itself prove that the cache is responsible. Google lists device settings or software, the network, Chrome, and website downtime or maintenance among possible causes. Check the scope of the problem before deleting data.
Test another website and your connection

Open another website in Chrome. If several sites fail, investigate the device’s internet connection rather than focusing only on the affected page.

Check that the address is correct and that your device is connected to the internet. If other sites work but one does not, the problem may be specific to that site, including temporary downtime or maintenance.

Try an Incognito tab
Open the affected address in an Incognito tab. If it works there but not in your regular tab, follow Google’s troubleshooting guidance and consider deleting browsing data. Incognito is a diagnostic comparison; it is not itself a cache-clearing action.

Clear cached images and files
In Chrome’s Delete browsing data controls, select Cached images and files for a focused cache-clearing attempt. Cookies and site data are a separate category. Deleting them can affect website settings, so leave them unselected unless you have a reason to remove them.
Update and restart Chrome
If the issue continues, check for a Chrome update and restart the browser. Google’s Android update instructions explain how to update Chrome. Persistent failures can also involve device memory or a problem on the website itself.

Which troubleshooting step should I choose?

Why “hard refresh” can be misleading on Android
“Hard refresh” is commonly used for a reload intended to bypass cached resources, but Google’s Android help pages reviewed here document ordinary Refresh/Reload and cache deletion as separate actions. They do not establish an Android Chrome gesture or menu command equivalent to desktop “Empty cache and hard reload.” A 2019 Chrome Community question about that feature is an old, locked discussion and is not evidence of current Chrome behavior.
