You can use Wachete to monitor an IRCTC ticket-availability page and receive an alert when the page or a selected section changes. Create a monitor for the relevant journey URL, confirm that Wachete’s preview shows the availability information you want, then choose a check frequency and notification method. An alert is only a prompt to check IRCTC again; it does not hold a seat or guarantee that availability will remain when you return.

Set up an IRCTC availability monitor in Wachete

  1. Sign in and create a monitor. In Wachete, start a new page monitor and choose the single-page or page-section monitoring option. Wachete describes adding a page, choosing how often it is checked, and receiving a change alert; monitoring runs on Wachete’s servers, so your computer does not need to stay online. See the Wachete FAQ.
  2. Enter the relevant IRCTC URL. Use the availability page for the journey you want to watch. Availability is shown within IRCTC’s reservation flow, according to the IRCTC NGET JP User Guide. The correct URL may depend on the route and the point you have reached in that flow.
  3. Check Wachete’s preview before saving. Confirm that it actually displays the availability information you intend to monitor. If the preview contains the relevant text, select that section rather than the whole page. Wachete supports whole-page and selected-section monitoring, and documents dynamic-page monitoring for content rendered after a page loads. That does not establish that every IRCTC route, class, quota, login state, or dynamic page will work reliably, so do not rely on a monitor unless its preview represents your target content. Details are on Wachete’s FAQ and Wachete’s monitoring page.
  4. Choose a check frequency and alert destination. Set a frequency available to your account and select a notification method. Wachete describes email and mobile push notifications, as well as chat and webhook options. The current frequency choices depend on the plan and are not specified here; check the options shown in your Wachete account rather than assuming a particular interval.
  5. Save and test the monitor. Review its preview and, after it records changes, its change history. If unrelated changes trigger notifications, narrow the monitored section or use Wachete’s controls for excluding noisy page sections where available.
  6. Verify availability and book through IRCTC. When an alert arrives, open IRCTC, check the live availability for the intended journey, and complete the booking through the official reservation flow. Wachete reports page changes; it does not book tickets, reserve a seat, or promise that inventory is still available when you act. See the IRCTC user guide.

Choose what Wachete should watch

Setting When it fits What to verify
Whole page Use when changes anywhere on the page are relevant. Check whether navigation, timestamps, or other changing content could create unwanted alerts.
Selected section Use when Wachete’s preview clearly represents the availability text or area you care about. Confirm the selected area includes the availability status and does not omit relevant information.
Dynamic monitoring Consider it when the relevant content appears after the page initially loads. Confirm the content appears correctly in the preview; documentation of dynamic monitoring is not proof that a particular IRCTC flow is compatible.

Wachete also describes alerts for page changes or specified text and controls for excluding changing sections that cause irrelevant notifications. See the official FAQ. The practical test is whether the exact target content appears in the preview and whether later history reflects the changes you want.

Troubleshoot missing or noisy alerts

  • The availability information is absent from the preview: Wachete may not be seeing the relevant state of the IRCTC page. Recheck the exact journey URL and the page state you are monitoring. Do not assume a monitor can navigate a login or reservation workflow that is not represented in its preview.
  • The page loads content after the preview is captured: Try Wachete’s documented dynamic-monitor option if available, then inspect the preview again. If the relevant content still does not appear, the monitor is not validated for that page state.
  • You receive alerts for unrelated changes: Select a smaller availability section instead of the whole page, or exclude noisy changing sections using Wachete’s filtering controls where available.
  • You receive no useful alerts: Check that the monitor is saved, its preview contains the intended content, and the selected frequency and destination are configured as intended. Trigger or observe a real page change only if one occurs; no alert-speed or booking-success guarantee is established.
  • The alert arrives but no seats are available: This is consistent with the limitation of change monitoring: the page may have changed again before you returned. Recheck the live IRCTC result and do not treat a notification as a reservation.

Frequency, reliability, and cost considerations

Wachete’s official pages describe choosing how often a page is checked and offer a free starting option alongside paid plans, but the current numerical intervals and prices are not established here. Review the current options in your account and on Wachete’s official site before selecting a plan. A more frequent check should not be mistaken for faster booking or guaranteed seat access: the monitor only detects changes it can see, and the available inventory can change before you act.

Or skip the browser setup

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers. One GET request can return a page screenshot or PDF, but it is not an IRCTC availability monitor and does not alert you when tickets change. It can help capture a page for a separate workflow; a screenshot alone cannot confirm live availability or book a ticket.
