Start by learning the two ways you interact with Masters of Albion: use the God Hand to shape and manage your town, or move down to ground level by controlling characters in Albion. Then follow the objectives shown in your current game build; the available official sources do not establish a fixed opening-quest walkthrough or a complete control map.
Masters of Albion is a single-player god game in Steam Early Access. Its current Early Access release includes the complete Chapter One experience, but several systems are still being refined.
Learn the two ways to interact with Albion
Use the God Hand to shape your town
The God Hand is the overhead interaction mode for shaping towns, designing items, interacting with the world, and using abilities. It is also the perspective for managing the settlement and its workforce.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTake control at ground level
You can move around Albion from above or take control of heroes, workers, animals, and other characters to experience the world in real time. Think of this as a shift from overseeing a settlement to acting within the world through a character. The official game description establishes these interaction modes, but it does not provide a full list of current keys or controller inputs.
#1 Best Overall
Find the controls in your current build
Use the game’s current settings display and on-screen prompts rather than relying on an unverified keyboard or controller cheat sheet. Check them again after updates, since the interface and controls may change during Early Access. Update 1.1 added an option to invert camera controls while in Possession mode; that specific option is not a complete control map. Read the official Update 1.1 announcement.
Build and manage a town
Building is about more than placing structures. The official description says you choose where structures go, customize them, hire and house workers, and manage the workforce. You can also combine building types to create multi-purpose spaces. A completed structure works immediately, without a construction timer.
For a first session, learn what each available building does and what its workforce needs before committing to a layout. Use the tasks in your current objectives to guide what you build and manage; no particular starting layout or resource sequence is established as optimal.
Follow the objectives for your first quests
The official description confirms that the game includes quests, hidden treasures, caves to explore, and crafting weapons or armor to strengthen heroes. It does not publish the exact opening quest steps or a recommended quest order. Follow the active objective displayed in your current build rather than a walkthrough for another game called Albion.

Prepare for exploration and night defense
Exploring and developing the town feed into the broader game loop. You can uncover treasures, explore caves, and craft equipment for heroes. The game also describes nighttime attacks: prepare with defensive structures, hero positioning, walls, and direct intervention when needed. Which preparations make sense depends on the tasks and threats presented in your current playthrough.

Masters of Albion entered Steam Early Access on April 22, 2026. 22cans says the current Early Access version contains the complete Chapter One experience, while identifying combat feel and difficulty balance, alignment, optional quests, UI and HUD clarity, progression, and core systems as areas for refinement. The developer describes the release this way: “We’ve brought Masters of Albion into Early Access to build it alongside players.” See the official Steam page and Early Access notes.

- Play and Battle With Your Favorite Characters: featured miniatures include He-Man, She-ra, Man-at-Arms, Ram Man, Skeletor, Mer-Man, Tri-Klops and more
- Multiple Ways to Play: play head-to-head, solo (with 4 difficulty levels), cooperative, or quick skirmish
- Bring Your Pieces and Games to Life: miniatures are easy-to-assemble and fun to paint, allowing teens and adults 14 years and up to make their games and models one-of-a-kind
- Sturdy and Durable for Long Lasting Game Use: made in the EU with HIPS plastic construction ensures each miniature figurine and terrain piece is sturdy and highly durable
That status matters when using guides: a control, objective, or system described for an earlier build may no longer match what you see. Trust the prompts and settings in your installed version when they differ from older advice.
