If you qualify for the FTC’s Amazon Prime settlement, you do not need to file a claim or fill out a form to receive the current automatic payments. Amazon is sending payments by check, PayPal, or Venmo. Verify any message against the FTC’s official Amazon refunds page, and use the administrator contact details listed there if your payment is missing or you have questions.
Do you need to file a claim?
No. For the current payment rounds, eligible consumers do not need to submit a claim, respond to a notice, or complete a form. Payments are based on Amazon’s records. The FTC says automatic refunds are continuing through April 2027, but a public announcement cannot confirm whether a particular person qualifies or when their payment will arrive.
Some older articles and notices describe earlier claim phases and deadlines. Those instructions may no longer apply to current payments; check the FTC’s refund page for the latest process.
Who may qualify and how much could they receive?
The settlement resolves FTC allegations that Amazon enrolled consumers in Prime without their consent and made cancellation difficult. The settlement does not mean every Prime enrollment was improper.

Under the revised order announced in September 2026, the automatic payment phase expanded to customers who used 11–20 Prime benefits during a 12-month period of Prime enrollment. Payments to this expanded group began October 1, 2026. Eligibility depends on the order’s terms and Amazon’s records, including prior payment history.
An eligible customer may receive up to $200 in total redress under the revised terms. Earlier payments to another eligible group were capped at $51; some recipients may receive additional redress, up to the revised total limit. Further supplemental payments may begin by April 2027 under the order’s conditions. These limits do not guarantee that any individual will receive a payment or the maximum amount.

As of September 2026, the FTC reported that more than $845 million in refunds had been issued. The settlement totals $2.5 billion: up to $1.5 billion in consumer redress and a $1 billion civil penalty, according to the FTC’s September 2025 announcement.
How are payments delivered?
The FTC says payments are sent by mailed check, PayPal, or Venmo. A payment expires 60 days after it is issued. Follow the instructions in the official payment notice promptly: accept an electronic payment or deposit or cash a check before its stated expiration.

The FTC’s September 2026 announcement says the revised order is intended to extend redress to more affected consumers. FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection Director Christopher Mufarrige said the order would “ensure more consumers who were harmed by Amazon’s deceptive enrollment and cancellation practices benefit from the FTC’s historic settlement.” That statement describes the agency’s view; the order and administrator records determine individual eligibility.
How to check whether a notice is legitimate
- Go to the FTC page yourself. Type the FTC Amazon refunds page address into your browser or find it through FTC.gov rather than clicking a link in an unexpected message. Compare the message’s claims with the current official guidance.
- Do not trust a caller claiming to be from the FTC. The FTC says it is not contacting consumers about refunds in this matter.
- Never pay to get a refund. The FTC says neither it nor Amazon will demand a fee. A request for a gift card, wire transfer, cryptocurrency, or payment for “special access” does not match the stated process.
- Do not share personal information with an unsolicited contact. If a message says you need to provide details to unlock a refund, verify the request independently before responding.
- Use independently verified administrator contacts. Get the administrator’s phone number or email address from the FTC page, not solely from the message that contacted you.
What to do if your payment is missing or went to an old address
Contact the settlement administrator if you expected a payment and have not received it, a check went to an old address, or you cannot access the PayPal or Venmo account used for payment. The FTC lists admin@SubscriptionMembershipSettlement.com and 1-888-999-8094 on its refund page. It also lists SubscriptionMembershipSettlement.com.

Use those details from the FTC page rather than contact information provided only by an unsolicited message. The administrator handles account-level payment questions; general FTC announcements cannot establish your individual status. If a payment is close to its 60-day expiration, contact the administrator promptly. Public guidance does not guarantee that an expired payment can be reissued.
