Use Spatie’s Browsershot to open a category URL in headless Chrome and save the rendered page as an image. For a full product listing, choose a full-page capture or target the product-grid element, then wait for a page-specific signal that the products have loaded. The example below is site-neutral: use a page you control or are authorized to capture, and verify its selectors and access behavior on your target site.
What you need before capturing a page
Browsershot is a PHP interface to Puppeteer, which controls headless Google Chrome to render web pages as images or PDFs. Its URL capture can be saved directly to a file. The runtime therefore needs more than PHP: install and configure the package’s required Node.js and Chrome or Chromium components for your installed version, and confirm the PHP process can locate them in the environment where the capture runs. See Browsershot requirements and the official repository; check the documentation for your package major version because requirements and APIs can change.
Do not assume that a retailer’s category page will render in the same way as a simple example URL. Product grids may be populated by JavaScript, images may load lazily, and a site may show consent or access screens. No retailer-specific markup, selector, or successful capture is established here.

Install and make a first capture
Install Browsershot following the official instructions for your PHP project and version, then verify Node.js and Chrome or Chromium are available to the PHP process. A minimal URL capture looks like this:

Inspect the page you are authorized to capture and substitute a selector that matches its actual DOM. If the selector does not exist or is replaced during rendering, the capture may fail or omit the intended content.
Wait for products and lazy-loaded images
Category pages often update after their initial HTML arrives. Browsershot’s documented waiting controls include waiting for a selector, a delay, a JavaScript function, or lazy-loaded resources. Use the condition that corresponds to the page’s behavior rather than treating an arbitrary delay as proof that the grid is ready.

Wait for lazy-loaded resources or a page-specific condition
For a listing that loads images as the user scrolls, use Browsershot’s documented lazy-resource waiting option where appropriate. You can also use its documented delay or JavaScript-function wait controls when the target page needs them. There is no single wait duration or selector established for Indian ecommerce sites in general. Validate the chosen condition against your particular URL, and record it along with viewport, device scale, and capture scope if you need repeatable comparisons.

Its configuration can select a driver, and the Browsershot customization hook exposes the underlying instance for settings such as request headers, user agent, timeout, and dialog dismissal. The same documentation also describes a Cloudflare Browser Rendering driver; that is a separate Laravel Screenshot driver, not a feature of Browsershot itself.
Output formats and verification
The basic example writes PNG, a lossless format that is convenient when visual detail matters. Choose another format only if it suits your storage or delivery needs; JPEG is lossy and may be preferable when smaller files matter more than exact pixel preservation. Browsershot can also convert a page to PDF. Check the resulting file in your application’s own workflow: confirm it exists, opens, has expected dimensions, and contains the product region you intended to capture.
Troubleshooting
- Node or Chrome cannot be found: The PHP process may run with a different PATH or environment from your interactive shell, or the browser runtime may not be installed. Install the required components and verify their paths and permissions in the actual deployment environment, following the instructions for your Browsershot version.
- The screenshot is blank or missing product cards: The page may render its content asynchronously, or the selected readiness condition may be too early. Wait for a meaningful page-specific element or other documented condition, then inspect the output rather than assuming the capture completed correctly.
- Images are missing lower down the listing: They may be lazy-loaded. Use the documented lazy-resource waiting control where appropriate, and check whether the page requires scrolling or another page-specific readiness strategy.
- The selector capture fails or shows the wrong area: The sample selector may not match the target page or may change as the page renders. Inspect the authorized page’s DOM and replace the example with the actual stable element selector.
- The image is much taller than expected:
fullPage()captures the entire document. Use a viewport capture or select a specific element when you need a bounded image. - The capture works locally but not in deployment: Confirm the production PHP process can access Node.js, Chrome or Chromium, the output directory, and any configured network resources. Local availability does not establish deployment availability.
- A consent, bot-check, or access screen appears: The page’s access behavior may differ from a normal browser visit. Do not treat a screenshot as a successful product listing; ensure you are authorized to access the page and comply with its requirements.
Performance, reliability, and cost considerations
Every capture launches or uses a browser-rendering path, so large full-page images, high device scale, and long waits affect the work your application must perform. Choose the smallest capture area and a clear readiness condition that meet your need. For repeat captures, keep the URL, viewport, device scale, scope, and wait condition consistent so differences are easier to interpret.
