If your Monk’s Deskrawl run is crawling or stalling, first check whether the problem is survival, kill speed, or interruptions—not simply whether you are farming a high node. Watch several waves, keep the highest node you can clear reliably, and change one build or farming variable at a time. The available guidance does not establish a universal level-15 XP wall or an official threshold for a stalled run.
Check whether the run is actually stable
A single successful wave does not prove a node is a good idle farm. Observe several waves, including elites and the local boss, and note whether your Monk survives without manual rescue and keeps killing at a useful pace. If deaths or stalls rise sharply, return to the last node that cleared reliably. This is practical community guidance; there is no official numerical definition of a stalled run.
Also check whether the run has finished and is repeating its current node. A beginner guide says auto-retry repeats the current node but does not advance automatically, and recommends farming the highest node you can clear reliably. - Deaths or revives: Treat survival as the first problem. Dodge helps avoid direct attacks, but it does not remove persistent ground damage.
- Slow kills while surviving: Review your active skills and whether your attack package supports its intended damage and resource synergies.
- Interruptions: Check whether the carriage fills or inventory management breaks up the idle window.
For a useful comparison, run equal-duration sessions on the same game version and record XP gained, kill pace, deaths or revives, and time lost to carriage or inventory handling. These are practical measures for your own character, not official benchmarks or thresholds.

Improve kill speed with a coherent Monk setup
A community Hundred Hands build guide describes a physical-damage direction built around Dodge Chance, rapid basic attacks, Furious Fist stacks, Mirror Steps’ post-dodge damage, and Zephyr’s Flow mana recovery. Its suggested progression is to reach Mirror Steps and then establish Zephyr’s Flow, rather than spreading early points diffusely across Dodge and Physical Damage. A separate community leveling guide places Furious Fist at level 15 and Piercing Lunge at level 20, with later Monk skills at further milestones. It advises adapting active skills to the zone. Address deaths without relying on Dodge alone
Dodge can help against direct attacks and support the build’s damage or mana synergies, but ground poison and lingering area effects still need a different response. Add health or resistance as needed, move out of hazards, and choose skills with the encounter in mind. If your Monk survives ordinary attacks but repeatedly dies to a ground effect, adding more Dodge alone may not fix the problem.
Check current patch notes before judging older advice
Deskrawl Patch 1.0.0h, dated 1 October 2026, changed several Monk-related mechanics and corrected some Paragon XP values that had been too low. The notes say Chain Force now applies Vulnerable after every seven basic attacks; Mirror Steps’ post-dodge physical-damage bonus increased from 40% to 60%, and its duration increased from 3 to 4 seconds; and Piercing Lunge now hits every enemy along its lunge path. Test one change at a time
- Choose a node your Monk can currently clear. Record the session length, XP, kill pace, deaths or revives, and interruptions.
- Change one factor. For example, test a lower node, adjust the active skills, or address a carriage or inventory interruption—but do not change all of them at once.
- Compare another session of equal duration on the same version. Keep the change only if it improves the measure that was limiting the run.
- Push one node at a time. If deaths or stalls climb sharply, return to the last stable farm and reassess before pushing again.
The evidence supports checking these causes separately, but it does not establish a Monk’s expected XP per hour, an optimal node, or a universal stall threshold. Treat your own matched sessions as a comparison, not as an official game benchmark.
