If Screenshot.Rocks cannot capture an Indian government website, first check the URL and open it in your own browser. The failure may be caused by a typo, a slow-loading page, or the site blocking automated browsers—but without the exact URL and error, none of those causes can be confirmed. Screenshot.Rocks’ documented workaround is to capture the page in your browser and import the image into its editor.
Why did the capture fail?
Screenshot.Rocks says an online capture can fail if the address is mistyped, the page takes too long to load, or the site blocks automated browsers. Its URL capture runs on a server, so it also cannot see a page that requires you to sign in to your own account. Screenshot.Rocks’ troubleshooting guidance describes these as possible causes, not a diagnosis of any particular failure.
Indian government security guidance discusses CAPTCHA for login pages and recommends Web Application Firewall protections. The National Government Services Portal’s feedback form displays CAPTCHA verification. That context makes access controls relevant, but it does not show that a particular government website blocked Screenshot.Rocks. No failure rate for Screenshot.Rocks captures on Indian government websites is established.

- Copy the exact address from the government site and check for a typo, missing path, or extra character.
- Open that address in your ordinary browser. Note whether the page loads, redirects, shows a CAPTCHA, or asks you to sign in.
- If it loads in your browser but not in Screenshot.Rocks, an automated-browser restriction is one possible explanation. This comparison is a clue, not proof; a timeout or other difference may also be responsible.
- If the page requires authentication or interaction, use the browser session in which you are already signed in. The server-side capture cannot access your local login session.
Do not try to bypass a CAPTCHA, login, WAF, or other access control. For an official task, visit the site normally using an authorized session and capture the rendered page locally.

Capture the page locally and import it
Use the Screenshot.Rocks extension for the visible tab
Open the page in your browser, including any authorized signed-in session, then use the Screenshot.Rocks browser extension to capture the visible tab. This captures what is currently on screen; it is not a full-page scrolling capture. The extension cannot capture browser-owned pages.

Import the image into the editor
Once you have the screenshot, drop or paste it into the Screenshot.Rocks editor. This local-capture workaround is useful whether the online capture failed because the page is authenticated, slow, or inaccessible to an automated browser.

Troubleshooting if it still fails
- The URL capture reports an error: recheck the address, then see whether the page loads in your browser. A typo, slow page, or automated-browser restriction are documented possibilities, but the error alone may not identify which applies.
- The page opens only after signing in: capture it in the browser session where you are authorized, rather than expecting a server-side URL capture to see your login.
- The extension image cuts off the page: the extension captures the visible tab. Use your browser’s full-page screenshot instructions for a long page.
- The page shows a CAPTCHA or other security check: do not bypass it. Use the site normally in an authorized session and capture the rendered page locally.
