If a PlayStation Store purchase or claimed game is missing, first confirm the transaction on the account that bought or claimed it. Then check the library and hidden games, verify any PlayStation Plus eligibility or sharing settings, restore licenses, and retry the download. These checks help distinguish a missing entitlement from a game that is owned but not downloading.
1. Confirm the transaction and the account
Before changing console settings, make sure the purchase or claim actually appears in Transaction History for the account that was meant to receive it. Sony says transaction history can verify whether a purchase succeeded. Online history defaults to the past two years, so check the date range as well as the signed-in account. See PlayStation transaction history guidance.
- On the web: Sign in to Account Management, then open Transaction History.
- On PS5: Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Transaction History.
- On PS4: Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Wallet > Transaction History.
- In the PlayStation App: Open the Store menu and select Transaction History.
A family manager can view family members’ transaction history from the console. If the transaction is missing, recheck the account and date range, then use PlayStation’s purchase or voucher support route as appropriate. The support guidance does not establish a universal delay interval for a successful transaction to appear, so don’t assume that waiting a set amount of time will resolve it.
2. Find the game or add-on in your library
Games purchased from PlayStation Store should appear in the account’s game library. Check that you are viewing the right library and that the title is not hidden. Sony’s library and download instructions give these paths:
#1 Best Overall
- Feel physically responsive feedback to your in-game actions through haptic feedback
- Experience varying levels of force and tension at your fingertips with adaptive triggers
- Chat online through the built-in microphone and connect a headset directly through the 3.5mm jack
- Switch voice capture on and off using the dedicated mute button
- Play on more devices using the USB Type-C cable or Bluetooth to connect easily to Windows PC and Mac computers, Android and iOS mobile phones as well as your PlayStation 5
- PS5: From Games home, open Game Library > Your Collection.
- PS4: Open Library > Purchased.
- Web or PlayStation App: Open the Purchased library.
If the game appears but is not installed, select it and choose Download. For an add-on, open the base game’s page in the library and check its add-ons. On PS4, Sony’s path is Library > Purchased > game > PlayStation Store > Your Add-Ons.
3. Check whether access depends on PlayStation Plus or another account
PlayStation Plus games
If you claimed the title through PlayStation Plus, confirm that the subscription is active. For a Game Catalog title, also confirm that the title is still in the current catalog and that your membership plan includes access. Catalog availability changes; check the current PlayStation Plus game catalog rather than relying on an old promotion or list. Sony’s Game Catalog help page explains how eligible games are accessed from the PlayStation Plus area on PS5 or PS4; Plus games can also be found in the Game Library.

Games owned by another account
If another account bought the game, access on a shared console depends on that account’s console-sharing setup. On PS5, the owner can enable Console Sharing and Offline Play. On PS4, the owner can activate the console as their primary PS4. Sony covers these settings in its locked games and license troubleshooting guidance.

4. Restore licenses if the game is locked or missing
A padlock icon or a title that cannot be accessed despite appearing to belong to the account can indicate a license issue. Sony lists restoring licenses as a remedy for locked games and content that cannot be found. Use the path for your console:
Rank #3
- Haptic feedback - Feel physically responsive feedback to your in-game actions with dual actuators which replace traditional rumble motors. In your hands, these dynamic vibrations can simulate the feeling of everything from environments to the recoil of different weapons. .Operating temperature : 41 °F to 95 °F (5 °C to 35 °C)
- Adaptive triggers - Experience varying levels of force and tension as you interact with your in-game gear and environments. From pulling back an increasingly tight bowstring to hitting the brakes on a speeding car, feel physically connected to your on-screen actions.
- Built-in microphone and headset jack - Chat with friends online using the built-in microphone or by connecting a headset to the 3.5mm jack. Easily switch voice capture on and off at a moment’s notice with the dedicated mute button. Internet and account for PlayStation Network required.
- DualSense Controller PS5 and PC compatible. Not compatible with PS4.
- PS Remote Play requires Remote Play App connected to Wi-Fi, PS4 or PS5 console with the latest system software and compatible game. A PS4 or PS5 console with a wired connection via a LAN cable is recommended. Version 4.0 of the Remote Play App on iOS and iPadOS or version 4.1 on macOS is required for games to be playable with the controller over Bluetooth.
- PS5: Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Restore Licenses.
- PS4: Settings > Account Management > Restore Licenses.
When the process finishes, try opening the game or downloading it again. Sony says restoring licenses does not affect saved data.
5. If you used a voucher, check redemption details
For a 12-digit PlayStation Store voucher, verify that it was redeemed on the account you are checking. After redemption, restart the console, then sign out and back in to that account. Make sure the voucher’s region matches the account’s region; codes are single-use, and redeemed vouchers appear in transaction details. Voucher content that does not require a download may not have a Download button. See Sony’s voucher redemption instructions and the transaction history page.

- Ultra Customizable Controls
- Mappable Back Buttons
- DualSense Wireless Controller Features Built In
- Replaceable Stick Modules and Caps
6. Troubleshoot a download that will not start
If the game is confirmed in the library but downloading fails, check PlayStation service status and basic download conditions before using advanced console troubleshooting. Sony recommends pausing and resuming a stalled download. If that does not work, cancel and delete the queued download, then start it again from the library. Also check that the console has enough free storage and current system software. For continued download failures, Sony lists rebuilding the database in Safe Mode as a later step; it is not the first fix for a purchase that is simply absent from the account. See PlayStation download troubleshooting.

7. Contact PlayStation Support if the entitlement still cannot be used
If the transaction, account, library, eligibility, sharing, and license checks do not resolve the issue, contact PlayStation Support. Include the transaction details, any error code or message, the exact steps that reproduce the problem, and a screenshot or video. For a download failure, note the date and time of an attempt. Do not post account passwords, payment card numbers, or voucher codes in public forums. Sony’s download troubleshooting page lists the evidence to provide when escalating a persistent download issue.
