An OBS reconnect loop during a YouTube stream is a symptom, not proof that Tata Play Fiber is at fault. OBS says dropped frames and intermittent disconnections usually point to an unstable connection between your computer and the remote ingest server. Check OBS and YouTube first, then compare bitrate, ingest choice, and wired versus Wi-Fi connections one change at a time. The available guidance does not establish a Tata Play Fiber-specific setting or cause.

What a reconnect loop tells you—and what it does not

OBS sends the stream directly from your computer to YouTube; OBS does not run an intermediate streaming server. A failure can therefore involve the computer, local network, ISP route, or YouTube ingest path. OBS describes the general symptom this way: “If you experience dropped frames or intermittent disconnections while streaming, there is a network issue between your computer and the remote stream ingest server.” OBS’s connection troubleshooting guide says dropped frames can happen when the connection is unstable or cannot sustain the selected bitrate, and enough dropped frames can disconnect the stream.

That guidance is not evidence of a Tata Play Fiber fault. No provider-specific cause or OBS workaround is established here. In particular, do not assume CGNAT, IPv6, throttling, or an area outage without evidence from your own connection or the provider.

Record what happens before changing settings

Capture one affected session so you can compare results and give support useful details. In OBS, open View → Stats and note whether the network-dropped-frames counter rises when the disconnect happens. Record the time and duration, whether other internet use on that computer stalls, the video bitrate, and the selected server/ingest option. Save the OBS log for the session; avoid assuming a particular log message proves a cause.

Rule out a stream key or encoder problem

  1. Check YouTube Studio. Open the Live Control Room and check the stream status and any reported errors. If you use a stream key with OBS, confirm OBS has the current key; if you update it in YouTube, update it in OBS too.
  2. Check OBS and the output. Make sure OBS is current and inspect the outgoing picture and sound. YouTube recommends checking that a third-party encoder has the correct stream key, is current, and produces healthy output. See YouTube’s live-streaming troubleshooting guidance.
  3. Separate encoder health from connectivity. If OBS output looks healthy but YouTube reports connection trouble, test outbound internet connectivity. YouTube directs users to contact their ISP when that test indicates a connection problem.

Test OBS network settings one at a time

Change one setting, stream long enough to compare, and record the result. Revert changes that do not help; changing several options together makes the result hard to interpret.

Lower the video bitrate temporarily

OBS suggests using 75% of total upload speed as a troubleshooting starting point. This is a general OBS recommendation, not a guaranteed Tata Play Fiber threshold or a YouTube-specific maximum. Test a lower video bitrate and check whether network-dropped frames stop. If you use dynamic bitrate as a fallback during congestion, understand that it can reduce picture quality and does not fix the underlying connection issue.

TP-Link AX1800 WiFi 6 Router (Archer AX21 V5)
  • DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
  • AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
  • CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
  • EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
  • OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.

Try another available ingest choice

If OBS offers another stream server/ingest choice, test it and compare against the original. A route to one ingest point can behave differently from a route to another; a change in result helps narrow the issue but does not by itself identify the cause.

Restore the default network binding, then test IPv4 only

  1. In OBS, open Settings → Advanced → Network and set Bind to IP to Default.
  2. As a diagnostic, change IP Family to IPv4 Only and compare a stream.
  3. If IPv4 Only makes no difference, restore the default IPv4-and-IPv6 behavior. Do not treat disabling IPv6 as a universal or permanent fix.

On Windows, test network optimizations and TCP pacing

OBS notes that some users report improvement with Enable network optimizations and Enable TCP pacing. Treat them as tests, not promised fixes: enable or disable one at a time and compare the results.

TP-Link Dual-Band AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 Wireless Gigabit Internet Router for Home
  • Next-Gen Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Speeds: 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz bands ensure smoother streaming and faster downloads; support VPN server and VPN client¹
  • A More Responsive Experience: Enjoy smooth gaming, video streaming, and live feeds simultaneously. OFDMA makes your Wi-Fi stronger by allowing multiple clients to share one band at the same time, cutting latency and jitter.²
  • Expanded Wi-Fi Coverage: 4 high-gain external antennas and Beamforming technology combine to extend strong, reliable, Wi-Fi throughout your home.
  • Improved Battery Life: Target Wake Time helps your devices to communicate efficiently while consuming less power.
  • Improved Cooling Design: No heat ups, no throttles. A larger heat sink and redefined case design cools the WiFi 6 system and enables your network to stay at top speeds in more versatile environments.

Isolate Wi-Fi, router, and software variables

  • Compare Ethernet with Wi-Fi. If you are streaming over Wi-Fi, test a wired connection if practical. A Cat6 Ethernet cable is an optional way to make that comparison, not a guaranteed cure. If Ethernet works while Wi-Fi does not, investigate the wireless link before changing OBS bitrate further.
  • Check VPNs and security or network-prioritization software. OBS recommends testing whether VPN, firewall/security, or bundled prioritization software is interfering. If you temporarily test without security software, restore protection afterward and add an OBS exception if appropriate.
  • Restart the modem/router. Retest after the equipment reconnects. If you do not know whether a network device or cable is faulty, OBS advises checking with the ISP before replacing hardware.
  • Check drivers and hardware later. Once simpler comparisons are complete, check network drivers and local hardware for problems. Avoid buying a router or extender based only on a reconnect loop.

Use the comparisons to narrow the fault

Comparison What a changed result may indicate
Wi-Fi versus Ethernet A difference points toward the wireless link or its local conditions; it does not prove an ISP fault.
Current bitrate versus a lower test bitrate Improvement suggests the selected rate or available upload capacity may be involved; it does not establish a permanent safe bitrate.
One ingest choice versus another A difference can help isolate a route or ingest-specific issue, but does not prove where the fault lies.
OBS output health versus YouTube’s connection status Healthy encoder output alongside connection errors makes the outbound path worth testing.
This computer versus another device or network A difference helps distinguish a device/local-network issue from a broader connection problem. Testing another streaming service can also be informative, but may not expose a problem specific to YouTube’s route.

When and how to contact Tata Play Fiber support

If the encoder checks and local comparisons still show unstable outbound connectivity, contact your ISP. Give support evidence rather than only saying that OBS reconnects:

  • Exact drop times and approximate duration.
  • Whether Ethernet and Wi-Fi behave differently.
  • Whether other services on the same computer remain connected.
  • The OBS log and Stats observations for the affected session.
  • The bitrate and ingest choices tested, and what changed.
  • Results of outbound connectivity tests.

OBS notes that congestion and network routes can be outside a user’s control; YouTube also directs users with internet connection problems to their ISP. Tata Play Fiber’s currently available general support information does not establish a provider-specific OBS procedure, so confirm its current troubleshooting or visit process directly with the provider.
