If IRL Pro keeps disconnecting from YouTube, first refresh the destination URL and stream key, then check whether the stream uses the right protocol and a bitrate your upload connection can sustain. For mobile streaming that loses packets while you move, the IRL Pro-specific Enhanced IRL guide recommends SRT over RTMP; if you already use SRT, lower the bitrate and test again. These steps can isolate a stale credential, encoder setting, relay issue or unstable uplink without assuming an Indian ISP is at fault.
1. Refresh the YouTube URL and stream key
A saved destination can stop working if its stream key was reset or if a relay URL was changed by a region or protocol change. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room for the intended stream and check its current server URL and stream key. YouTube’s encoder instructions say to enter the URL in the encoder’s server field and the key in its stream-key field. If you reset a key or suspect it was exposed, replace it in IRL Pro too; the old key will no longer be valid.
If you use the Enhanced IRL relay, copy the entire newly published URL after changing its region or protocol, or rotating the key. Its guide says those changes invalidate the old URL. In IRL Pro, confirm that the selected protocol matches the relay URL and put the URL and key in the fields expected by that configuration.
2. Choose a protocol that fits the connection
The Enhanced IRL guide for IRL Pro documents RTMP and SRT configurations over a single connection. It recommends SRT for a single mobile connection used while moving because its guide says SRT handles packet loss better than RTMP. This is provider-specific guidance, not a guarantee that every relay or destination supports the same end-to-end setup. If SRT is already selected and drops continue, try a lower bitrate.

| Protocol or setup | What to consider |
|---|---|
| RTMP | Supported in the cited IRL Pro configuration. If packet loss while moving is the issue, the Enhanced IRL guide recommends trying SRT instead. |
| SRT | Supported in the cited IRL Pro configuration and recommended by that guide for mobile packet loss. Reduce bitrate if the stream still falters. |
| RTMPS | YouTube recommends encrypted RTMPS ingestion in its encoder help. The IRL Pro source cited here confirms RTMP and SRT, but does not establish RTMPS support in every IRL Pro configuration. Verify support with the exact relay and app setup before switching. |
| SRTLA bonding | Do not assume a second SIM or Wi-Fi link is being combined by an RTMP/SRT single-connection configuration. The IRL Pro website lists SRTLA bonding as an app feature, while Enhanced IRL’s guide describes its own IRL Pro setup as single-connection and points to Moblin or BELABOX for SRTLA bonding. Whether bonding is available depends on the app, relay and configuration. |
3. Lower the bitrate to match real upload capacity
A fast download result does not show whether your connection can reliably send a live stream. YouTube advises having enough outbound bandwidth for the chosen bitrate, leaving headroom and testing under conditions similar to the broadcast. Check upload capacity, not download speed alone, and repeat the test while walking if that is when the stream fails.
YouTube’s H.264 encoder table lists recommended bitrates of 14 Mbps for 1080p30 and 8 Mbps for 720p30, with minimum rates of 5 Mbps and 3 Mbps respectively. These are platform encoding recommendations, not a promise that a particular mobile or broadband uplink can sustain them. Start lower if your measured upload or a field test is unstable; if needed, lower resolution or frame rate as well as bitrate.

Enhanced IRL publishes plan caps of 6,000–10,000 kbps depending on plan and suggests starting at half the applicable cap, then testing with a walk. Those are caps and a starting heuristic for that service, not universal YouTube or Indian-network limits. Do not set IRL Pro above the relevant relay cap.

Check both ends of the path: the relay’s chain or status view, if you use one, and YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room preview and stream-health message. This can show whether the feed reaches the relay, whether it is forwarded, and whether YouTube receives it.

For the Enhanced IRL workflow, its troubleshooting guide suggests sending a 30-second test from another phone app using the same URL. If that test reaches the destination, investigate the IRL Pro configuration; if it does not, check the URL, key or subscription. Treat this as a diagnostic for that provider’s workflow, not a universal test for every relay.
5. Separate a dropped connection from a YouTube start-control issue
A scheduled YouTube stream may show a preview before it is actually live. YouTube’s encoder instructions say to wait for the preview and select Go live when required. Auto-start and auto-stop settings also affect event start and stop controls; they are separate from an encoder transport reconnect. If the feed arrives but viewers cannot see a live event, check the Live Control Room’s event state rather than changing bitrate first.

6. Troubleshoot by symptom
| Symptom | Likely area to check | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| It stopped working after a key reset or relay setting change | Stale URL or key | Copy the current URL and key from the relevant YouTube or relay dashboard and replace the full saved values in IRL Pro. |
| It disconnects mainly while walking | Packet loss or uplink variation | Try SRT if the exact relay path supports it; lower bitrate if already on SRT, then test while moving. |
| It fails at a high bitrate, even when stationary | Insufficient sustained upload headroom | Reduce bitrate, then resolution or frame rate if necessary. Re-test upload under the same access conditions. |
| The relay receives a test but YouTube does not | Forwarding, destination or YouTube configuration | Check relay status, destination URL/key and YouTube’s stream-health message. |
| A test from another encoder also fails | Key, URL, relay subscription or destination path | Recheck credentials and service status before changing IRL Pro settings. |
| The feed appears in preview but the event is not live | Scheduled-event controls | Wait for preview and use Go live if required; inspect auto-start and auto-stop settings. |
7. Gather details before contacting support
Record the plan or subscription status, IRL Pro and Android versions, protocol, selected bitrate, full error text, whether the issue occurs while stationary or moving, and whether the same URL works in another encoder. If you suspect a local access-network problem, also note the city, provider or carrier, whether you were on fiber, fixed wireless, Wi-Fi or cellular, and the time of the failure. The cited guidance does not establish a specific Indian provider or carrier fault, so these details matter before assigning blame.
