First identify where the picture disappears: in your YouTube player while watching, in an IRL Pro live stream, or in the published recording. The fixes differ, and the available official guidance does not establish a specific IRL Pro black-screen cause or a guaranteed IRL Pro-specific fix.
Start by locating the black screen
Use these checks to distinguish a playback problem on your device from a problem with the stream or recording itself. They are diagnostic suggestions, not a published IRL Pro procedure.
- Play another YouTube video on the same device. If that video is black too, focus first on YouTube playback, your connection, or the device.
- Open the affected video on another device or browser. If it looks normal there, the issue is more likely local to the original app, browser, or device.
- Ask whether other viewers see the same thing. If multiple viewers see a black picture on the IRL Pro stream, focus on the stream output rather than one viewer’s YouTube player.
- Check whether audio continues and when the problem starts. Note whether the image is black during the live stream, only after the recording is published, or both.
If the YouTube player is black while you watch
YouTube’s general playback guidance recommends checking the connection and playback quality, restarting the app or device, updating the app or browser, and checking browser extensions.

- Restart the connection. Reconnect to Wi-Fi or restart your router if other online playback is also unreliable.
- Lower the video quality. Select a lower resolution in the YouTube player and see whether the picture returns. YouTube’s approximate recommended sustained speeds are 20 Mbps for 4K, 5 Mbps for 1080p HD, 2.5 Mbps for 720p HD, 1.1 Mbps for 480p SD, and 0.7 Mbps for 360p SD. These are approximate recommendations, not guarantees that a particular video will play correctly.
- Close and reopen YouTube. If that does not help, restart the device.
- Update YouTube or your browser. Install available updates, then test the video again.
- Test without browser extensions. In a desktop browser, temporarily disable extensions such as ad blockers and reload the video. If that works, re-enable extensions one at a time to identify a conflict.
If video rendering is broken on a computer
YouTube’s related green-screen guidance asks whether audio plays while the video player is green. It is not a confirmed fix for a black screen or an IRL Pro problem, but its computer-rendering checks may help if audio works and the picture does not.

- Try another browser. If the video works there, the original browser or its settings may be involved.
- Turn off Chrome hardware acceleration. In Chrome, open Settings → System and turn off Use hardware acceleration when available. Restart Chrome and test again. If the setting is not shown at that path in your version, use Chrome Settings search for “hardware acceleration.”
- Check for a graphics-driver update. Use the computer maker’s official support source for instructions appropriate to your computer and operating system.
If the IRL Pro live stream or recording is black
IRL Pro is an app for streaming to YouTube and other destinations, and its official product information describes features including SRTLA bonding and bitrate adjustment. The available product information does not document this black-screen symptom, recording behavior, or a targeted troubleshooting sequence, so do not assume IRL Pro itself is the cause.
- Check whether unrelated YouTube videos play normally on the same client.
- Compare the affected stream on another device and ask another viewer whether the picture is also black.
- Record whether audio is present and whether the problem begins during the live broadcast or only in the published recording.
- If the issue persists, contact the developer using the support contact shown on the IRL Pro Google Play listing. Include your phone model, operating-system version, IRL Pro app version, whether audio works, and whether the issue affects the live stream, the recording, or both.
These details help distinguish a viewer-side playback fault from an issue in the stream or recording. The available support listing provides a contact, but does not publish a black-screen fix.
