There is no single fix for a failed Flipkart screenshot: first determine whether Chrome failed to start, navigation reached the wrong page, product content was not ready, the screenshot call failed, or the image was written somewhere unexpected. The title does not specify an error, browser library, or environment, so the steps below isolate the failure without assuming Flipkart blocked the request.
First, check that automated capture is permitted
Before debugging the browser, check the terms and permissions that apply to the exact Flipkart domain and workflow. Flipkart’s terms page for stories.flipkart.com restricts automated methods such as page scraping and robots for accessing, acquiring, copying, or monitoring site content not purposely made available through the site. That page identifies the Stories website; do not assume its scope is identical to every Flipkart domain or authorized workflow. Obtain permission where needed. Flipkart’s seller APIs are for seller marketplace workflows, not documented as a general product-page screenshot API.
Classify the failure before changing settings
Record the exact command or API call, complete error or stack trace, exit code, target URL and final URL, browser and automation-library versions, operating system or container, viewport and device scale, and whether an image file was created. These details point to different fixes:

- Navigation errors or ends at an unexpected URL: inspect the navigation exception and the page Chrome actually reached. A browser warning, site response, or other destination is not a screenshot-writing failure.
- Navigation succeeds but the product is missing: inspect the rendered page and wait for a meaningful product-content condition. Do not label the response a CAPTCHA or bot block unless you can see evidence of that in the browser.
- The page looks right but the capture fails or times out: isolate the screenshot call, browser build, framework, environment, extensions if present, and concurrent page operations.
- The capture completes but pixels differ: make the rendering environment and page state consistent before changing visual-comparison tolerances.
Use Chrome’s command line to inspect the rendered page
Chrome Headless supports --screenshot, and --dump-dom prints the serialized DOM after parsing and script execution. This helps distinguish an unexpected page response from an image-output problem. Replace the URL below with the product-page URL you are authorized to capture.

If it shows a challenge, error, login, browser warning, or other response instead of the expected product page, Chrome reached that state; changing the screenshot file path will not make the product appear. The available evidence does not establish which response Flipkart will return in a particular run.

Reaching that limit does not establish that product content was ready. Chrome documents --virtual-time-budget for fast-forwarding timers such as setTimeout and setInterval; use it only to test timer-dependent display, not as a general fix for blocked navigation or missing network responses.

Wait for product content, not just elapsed time
A fixed delay is easy to try but cannot tell you whether the product page is actually ready. With Puppeteer or Playwright, wait for a visible, relevant product element when you know its selector, and report the selector and timeout when diagnosing a failure. Selectors can change, so confirm the chosen element in the rendered DOM. Network-idle conditions are useful in some workflows but do not guarantee that every user-visible element has appeared.

Puppeteer example
This example separates navigation, a page-content wait, capture, and output writing. Replace PRODUCT_SELECTOR with a selector confirmed for the product page you are permitted to access; a selector mismatch should fail visibly rather than silently produce a misleading screenshot.

Puppeteer also documents waitUntil: 'networkidle2' in navigation examples, but network idle is not proof that product content is visible. Page.screenshot() returns image data; when using a buffer instead of the path option, await the call and write the returned bytes to the intended path. Avoid overlapping page creation or closure with capture, and do not treat bringing a page to the front as a synchronization mechanism.

Keep the browser environment stable
When comparing screenshots or reproducing an intermittent failure, hold the Chrome/Chromium build, operating system or container image, viewport, device scale, headless mode, and relevant settings constant. Playwright notes that rendering can vary with host OS, browser version, settings, hardware, power source, and headless mode. If the failure occurs only in CI, compare its runtime and dependencies with a known local run. Remove extensions only when that setup actually uses them; a closed Playwright issue documents a Linux/container timeout involving an extension, but does not establish a current general extension bug or a Flipkart-specific cause.

Normalize before judging image differences
- Use the same viewport dimensions and device scale factor.
- Use the same browser build and headless mode.
- Keep operating system, fonts, and container configuration consistent where possible.
- Compare captures of the same page state and wait condition.
- Do not mask or ignore a region if doing so would hide a meaningful error or unexpected page response.

What to include if the problem persists
Share a minimal reproduction only if your access is authorized, and include the exact error and stack trace, whether Chrome starts, target and final URL/title, whether --dump-dom shows the expected product page, screenshot command or API options, Chrome and framework versions, OS/container, viewport and device scale, and whether the same runtime fails on an unrelated known page. These facts locate the problem in launch, navigation, page readiness, capture, output writing, or access policy.
