If FC 26 has no sound, first check whether everything is silent or only one category—such as commentary, menu narration, or controller audio. The right fix depends on what you can still hear and which platform you’re using. Start with reversible in-game settings; use PC driver troubleshooting only when your hardware matches the specific setup described below.
First, identify which FC 26 sounds are missing
Check whether sound is absent everywhere or only in a particular screen, mode, or category. EA’s FC 26 accessibility guide lists separate controls for several kinds of audio, so a single muted or misrouted category can sound like a wider failure.
- Everything is silent: Check the game’s audio categories and, on PC, confirm Windows is sending sound to the intended output.
- Commentary is missing but the crowd or gameplay effects remain: Check the commentary level and the selected speaker format.
- Only menu narration or controller audio differs: Look at those specific accessibility or audio settings rather than changing unrelated volumes.
EA lists Menu SFX and EA Music, plus Controller Audio on PS5. For 11-A-Side it lists separate Commentary and Stadium Ambiance sliders; Rush has separate Commentary, Gameplay Music, and General Ambiance controls. Menu narration is a distinct accessibility option, not the same control as sound effects or commentary.
If commentary is silent, check the speaker format
When crowd noise and effects are audible but commentators are not, verify that the game’s selected output matches the system you actually use. In an EA Forums reply, an EA community manager said a 5.1 or 7.1 home-theater selection can cause commentary to be inaudible if the player does not have that matching surround setup, and recommended stereo in that situation. This is support guidance for one possible cause, not a universal explanation for missing commentary.

- Open FC 26’s audio settings and find the output or speaker configuration.
- If it is set to 5.1 or 7.1 but your audio system does not support that configuration, switch to stereo.
- Replay a match and check whether commentary returns while the other audio categories remain at usable levels.
The advice comes from an EA community-forum response about missing commentary, not a formal product-manual statement.
If all sound is missing on PC
First check that Windows is using the intended output device and that other applications produce sound through it. If FC 26 alone is silent, confirm its in-game volume categories before changing system drivers.

An EA Forums response marked solved describes a narrower case involving Realtek audio with Intel Smart Sound. The suggested remedy was a chipset and audio driver reinstall sequence, followed by testing disabled audio enhancements or 48 kHz output. Those steps are specific to that reported configuration; they are not a safe default for every PC. The forum response about PC audio loss does not establish that other hardware has the same cause.
- Check whether Windows output and other apps work before treating FC 26 as a driver problem.
- Consider driver changes only if your PC has the Realtek and Intel Smart Sound setup described in the forum answer.
- If testing enhancements or sample rate, change one setting at a time so you can tell what affects the sound.
When only menu narration or controller audio differs
Use the setting for the sound that is actually affected. EA documents menu narration separately from game sound effects and commentary, and lists Controller Audio specifically for PS5. Changing commentary or stadium ambiance will not address a narration or controller-speaker setting.

If the checks do not fix it
Keep a short diagnostic record before seeking platform or EA support. Note your platform, whether the issue affects menus and every mode or just matches, which sound categories still work, the selected output format, and whether other games or apps have audio. The available support responses describe particular causes; they do not establish one fix that resolves every FC 26 audio problem.
