If your Echo Show will not connect to Wi-Fi or its touchscreen is frozen, start by unplugging it, waiting 30 seconds, and reconnecting it with the included power adapter. Restart an Echo Show that is frozen or acting up
Unplug the Echo Show from power, wait 30 seconds, then reconnect it using its included adapter. Give it time to start up and check whether the screen and connection work again. Amazon advises restarting before a full reset because a restart can resolve common issues without clearing device settings.
If the screen remains frozen, do not assume the display hardware has failed. Try the Wi-Fi checks below if the issue involves connectivity, or use the reset options later in this guide if you can navigate the screen.
Fix an Echo Show that will not connect to Wi-Fi
1. Find out whether the problem affects the whole network
On a phone, computer, or other device connected to the same Wi-Fi, try opening a website or using an online service. If that device also cannot connect, the problem may be with the router, modem, or internet service rather than the Echo Show. Restart the router and modem, then contact your internet service provider if other devices still cannot get online.

2. Check the Echo Show’s connection
If other devices work on the network, check that the Echo Show is using the current Wi-Fi password. A password saved before a router or password change will no longer work. Also move the Echo Show within Amazon’s suggested distance of 30 feet (10 meters) from the router, and keep it away from possible sources of interference such as microwaves or baby monitors.
3. Change the saved Wi-Fi network on the Echo Show
When the network name or password has changed, update the connection on the Echo Show itself. Amazon directs owners of Echo devices with screens to change Wi-Fi settings on the device rather than through the Alexa app. Menu wording can vary by model and software version. If you cannot find the setting, use Amazon’s Echo Show support hub to find guidance for your model.

4. If setup still fails
Confirm that the internet connection is working and, if you are using the Alexa app during setup, that the app is up to date. Restart the Echo Show before trying a reset. Amazon’s setup troubleshooting guidance also recommends reset as a later step when setup problems persist.
What to do when the touchscreen does not respond
If the screen responds after a restart
Once you can use the touchscreen, check the support instructions for your specific Echo Show model before resetting it. A factory reset clears device settings, so you will need to set up the Echo Show again afterward.

If you can use the buttons but not the on-screen reset
Amazon documents a button reset for Echo devices with screens: hold the Microphones & Camera Disable/Enable button and Volume Down together until the Amazon logo appears, which takes about 15 seconds, then follow the on-screen prompts. Button behavior can vary by generation, so confirm the instructions for your exact model in Amazon’s screen-device reset guidance before trying this method.
If touch remains completely unusable
The cited Amazon guidance does not provide a touchscreen-specific repair procedure. Contact Amazon support with the Echo Show’s model and a description of the fault rather than assuming that a particular repair or replacement part will solve it. Amazon’s Echo Show support hub is a starting point for model-specific help.

When to reset an Echo Show
Use a factory reset only after a restart and the relevant Wi-Fi or setup checks fail. A reset erases device settings, so it is more disruptive than restarting and requires setting the device up again. Amazon describes on-screen and button reset methods for Echo devices with screens in its reset instructions; available options and button behavior may differ among Echo Show models.
Amazon’s support material covers general Echo troubleshooting, but it may not address every model, software release, or touchscreen fault. Follow the instructions for your exact model when its menus or buttons differ.
