First check whether the saved screenshot is actually blurry or washed out, or whether only the image on your display looks that way. Then compare the same scene while changing one setting at a time: HDR, Photo Mode filters and effects, and—if relevant—platform and game build. These tests can help isolate a cause, but no universal fix for 007 First Light Photo Mode screenshots is established by the available official guidance.
Check that Photo Mode is available and note your game version
IO Interactive added Photo Mode in Update 1.3.0, released October 1, 2026. The mode includes camera settings, overlays, filters, visual effects and poses. If you cannot find it, check that the game has this update: IOI’s Update 1.3.0 patch notes.
Record your platform and game version before troubleshooting. That matters because IOI’s known-issues page was updated September 17, 2026—before Photo Mode arrived—and its at-a-glance section listed version 1.2.1 as the latest live build at that time. Its listed issue status may not reflect the game after Update 1.3.0.
Find out whether the problem is in the screenshot or on the display
Capture a screenshot in a scene you can revisit, keeping the camera framing as consistent as possible. Compare the saved file with the live game image on the same display. If practical, view the saved file on another screen or device as well. This is a diagnostic comparison, not a confirmed repair.

- 【INTEGRATED SPEAKERS】Whether you're at work or in the midst of an intense gaming session, our built-in speakers provide rich and seamless audio, all while keeping your desk clutter-free.
- 【EASY ON THE EYES】 Protect your eyes and enhance your comfort with Blue-Light Shift technology. This feature reduces harmful blue light emissions from your screen, helping to alleviate eye strain during long hours of use and promoting healthier viewing habits.
- 【WIDEN YOUR PERSPECTIVE】Our sleek minimal bezel design ensures undivided attention. The nearly bezel-free display seamlessly connects in a dual monitor arrangement, delivering an unobstructed view that lets you focus on more at once, completely distraction-free.
- The saved image looks normal elsewhere, but wrong on your display: investigate the display’s HDR mode or how it presents the image.
- The live image and saved screenshot both look soft: look at game rendering, platform-specific image reconstruction, or a known texture issue.
- Only the Photo Mode image looks wrong: test its filters and visual effects before changing other settings.
Test Photo Mode filters and effects
Make a comparison capture with filters and visual effects disabled or returned to neutral, then compare it with the original under the same scene and framing. Change one option at a time if you want to identify which one affects the result. IOI confirms these controls exist, but does not identify them as the cause of blurry or washed-out screenshots.
Isolate HDR without guessing at slider values
To check whether HDR is involved, compare captures with the game’s HDR setting on and off while keeping the scene, camera and other settings unchanged. Also compare the live display image with the saved file. If changing HDR improves one comparison but not the other, that distinction can help narrow down where the image is changing.

- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadow for added depth - making every scene feel more vivid and realistic
- The 180Hz refresh rate minimizes lag for gameplay with ultra-smooth action. Plus, the 1ms response time helps capture your moves in real-time, allowing you to react fast for gaming precision
- AMD FreeSync reduces choppiness, screen lag and image tearing, ensuring that your fast-paced, complex in-game action is stable with minimal stutter
- Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort
A player with an LG C4 described difficulty getting the HDR setting right and called the picture “washed out,” but that is an individual report, not evidence of a general defect or a validated slider value. The cited official guidance does not prescribe a universal HDR setting or confirm an HDR workaround for Photo Mode. Do not treat a particular slider number as a proven fix.
Check platform-specific blur and upscaling context
PS5 Pro: distinguish soft textures from a soft screenshot
IOI’s September 17, 2026 known-issues page listed “Blurry / low-resolution textures” on PS5 Pro and said, “Workaround: None at this time.” That entry predates Update 1.3.0, so it does not establish the current status. It also describes a texture issue, not a diagnosis of every blurry Photo Mode export. Check IOI’s current support information before treating it as applicable to your game version.

PlayStation Blog says upgraded PSSR is enabled by default in 007 First Light on PS5 Pro and is intended to reconstruct a sharper, more stable image from a lower internal resolution. IOI Technical Director Henrik Schlichter described it as improving fine detail for PS5 Pro players. This is platform context, not evidence that PSSR causes a particular screenshot defect.
Other platforms
The same PlayStation Blog article says IOI uses FSR 3.1.5 outside PS5 Pro. That does not show that FSR causes blur, nor does it provide a Photo Mode export fix. Keep platform and game build in your notes when comparing results, rather than assuming that one platform’s behavior applies to another.

Use the PC path-tracing guidance only for the matching PC setup
IOI’s September 25, 2026 Update 1.2.2 guidance concerns PC path tracing, not console troubleshooting or general Photo Mode export problems. It recommends updating the game and graphics driver, restoring graphics defaults, and following path-tracing and fullscreen-resolution recommendations for the specific graphics card. Its listed RTX recommendations are:

IOI recommends DLSS Super Resolution Auto as the scaling choice in this guidance. Apply these recommendations only when troubleshooting PC path tracing with the corresponding RTX model; they are not a general-purpose Photo Mode repair.

Run a controlled comparison and record the result
Use the same scene and framing so that each capture tests a meaningful difference. Change one variable at a time, and note the platform and game build.
- Capture the live image and a Photo Mode screenshot with your current settings.
- Compare the saved file with the live image, including on another display if available.
- Disable Photo Mode filters and effects, then capture the same scene again.
- Compare HDR on and off without changing other settings between captures.
- For PC path-tracing cases, record the GPU model, resolution, scaling mode and graphics driver; follow IOI’s model-specific guidance where it applies.
If the saved screenshots remain blurry or washed out after these comparisons, report the platform, game version, scene, relevant settings and what differed between the live image and saved file to IOI support. The evidence cited here does not establish a universal fix or a Photo Mode-specific repair.
