First check whether the pause is already audible when the tracks play consecutively outside your live stream. If it is, fix the files or playback workflow; if it appears only in the encoder or on YouTube, check the audio source, encoder status, and stream health before changing settings. Hindi music itself is not a technical cause—the same checks apply to any playlist.
Identify where the pause begins
Note whether the gap happens at every song boundary, only with certain tracks, randomly during songs, or only for some viewers. Then compare the sound at each stage of your setup:
- Play the files consecutively in the player or playlist used to prepare the stream.
- Listen to the source in OBS or your encoder.
- Check the encoder preview and YouTube Live Control Room preview.
- Compare those with the public stream, if the problem is reported by viewers.
A gap at the same boundary points first to the file ending, the next file’s start, or the player’s transition behavior. Random interruptions, especially alongside dropped frames, point more toward delivery or playback conditions. These clues narrow the diagnosis; without the setup and a recording, they do not establish a single cause.
Check the tracks and playlist transition
Listen to the files back to back
Play the affected tracks consecutively outside the live output, listening closely to the end of the first and beginning of the next. If the silence is present there, inspect the media files and playlist sequence. The source material or the way the tracks are joined may contain the pause.

Check how your playback source handles transitions
OBS Media Source supports common audio formats including MP3, AAC, OGG, and WAV. OBS VLC Video can play a playlist and provides loop and shuffle controls, as well as a visibility behavior setting. OBS documents those controls but does not promise gapless playback or crossfading between playlist items. See the OBS media sources documentation.
If the files play continuously outside OBS but pause in the live source, focus on the source and player workflow. For a continuously running setup, check that the source is not configured to stop or restart when hidden, and that playlist looping is enabled if you need it. The right setting depends on your scene and source; do not assume that VLC, a plugin, or a particular player will universally eliminate gaps.

Check OBS, the encoder, and YouTube audio health
Compare the source with the encoder output
Listen to the local source and then to the encoder output. Check encoder and YouTube dashboard warnings, review CPU load, and make a local recording or archive so you can inspect what the encoder actually produced. YouTube recommends checking encoder output and dashboard errors, updating the encoder, and testing the sound. If the encoder output sounds correct, investigate the outbound connection. YouTube lists missing audio and multiple audio streams among ingestion errors. Confirm that the encoder sends the audio stream you intend and that its status is healthy. For YouTube RTMP/RTMPS, YouTube’s published encoder guidance specifies AAC or MP3 audio; for stereo, it lists a 44.1 kHz sample rate and 128 kbps bitrate. Check the current YouTube live encoder settings and any messages in Live Control Room before changing configuration. These encoding settings do not guarantee gapless transitions between tracks.

YouTube also recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the intended broadcast, then monitoring stream health and messages. A short test using the same playlist and encoder settings can help distinguish a source-transition issue from a live ingestion problem. Separate track gaps from connection or viewer buffering
If interruptions occur randomly rather than at repeatable song boundaries, check dropped frames and stream health. OBS explains that dropped frames indicate a connection that is unstable or cannot sustain the configured bitrate. If your local source and encoder are continuous but YouTube playback is not, use Live Control Room health messages and test the outbound internet connection. YouTube advises checking connection strength and contacting your ISP if you find an outbound connection problem.

Troubleshoot by symptom

Test changes without risking the 24/7 broadcast
- Reproduce the affected boundary with the same files and playback source outside the public stream.
- Change one source or playlist setting at a time, such as looping or visibility behavior, so you can tell what changed.
- Run a private or otherwise safe test using the intended audio and stream configuration.
- Compare the local recording, encoder output, and YouTube health messages before applying a change to the continuous broadcast.
