Angular NG0505 means the browser is trying to hydrate a server-rendered page, but the server response is missing the serialized application information hydration needs. The first fix is to add provideClientHydration() to the providers used to bootstrap the server application—not just the client application.
What NG0505 means
Angular reports NG0505: No hydration info in server response when hydration is enabled in the browser but the server response does not contain the serialized application data Angular expects. Hydration is an Angular feature for server-side rendered (SSR) applications: it lets the client reuse the server-rendered page rather than treating it as an entirely new render.
This error points first to a difference between client and server provider configuration. Angular specifically identifies a setup in which provideClientHydration() is configured for the client but omitted from the providers that bootstrap the server application.
Fix NG0505 by adding hydration to the server providers
Find the provider configuration used to start the SSR application and ensure it includes provideClientHydration(). The correct location depends on how the app is bootstrapped.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Standalone application
Angular’s documented standalone setup imports the function from @angular/platform-browser and provides it when bootstrapping the app:
import { provideClientHydration } from '@angular/platform-browser';
bootstrapApplication(App, {
providers: [provideClientHydration()]
});
For SSR, make sure this provider is included in the provider set used by the server bootstrap as well as the client configuration. See Angular’s hydration guide for setup context.

NgModule application
For an NgModule-based app, add provideClientHydration() to the root module’s providers. Check that the server configuration uses that provider set when it bootstraps the application.
Shared versus separate configurations
- Shared providers or a standard Angular CLI structure: inspect the shared provider configuration or main
AppModuleused by the server setup. Confirm the hydration provider is part of the configuration the server actually uses. - Custom independent client and server configurations: inspect the server bootstrap providers directly. Adding the provider only to the browser configuration does not supply the server with the information needed to serialize hydration data.
Check SSR and verify the fix
- Identify the configuration that bootstraps the server-rendered application.
- Confirm that configuration includes
provideClientHydration(). - Confirm the application is using SSR; Angular documents hydration as an SSR capability.
- Run the application and inspect the browser console in development for hydration statistics, or use Angular DevTools to inspect hydration status.
The provideClientHydration API reference marks the function stable since Angular v17.0. It describes hydration setup and default features, but the specific NG0505 check is whether the provider is present in the server bootstrap configuration.

If NG0505 remains
If the server bootstrap already includes provideClientHydration(), check that the running SSR application is using the configuration you inspected. Then distinguish NG0505 from other hydration problems: Angular treats missing serialized server information separately from DOM mismatches or changes to the server-rendered HTML. Use the relevant guidance in Angular’s Error Encyclopedia for any additional error reported by the application.
