If only Amazon is affected, try it in an Incognito window; if it loads there, investigate extensions and saved site data in your regular Chrome profile. Use the exact error message to choose network or browser checks, and leave Chrome’s settings reset for later.
First check whether the problem is Amazon or your connection
- Confirm the address and reload. Make sure you are using the intended Amazon URL, then reload the page.
- Open another website you know is working. If several sites fail, check whether your device is connected to the internet and whether the network is working. If other sites load but Amazon does not, continue with the browser checks below.
A loading failure alone does not establish whether the cause is the device, network, Chrome, or the website. Google lists all of these as possible sources of connection and loading errors. Google Chrome Help: Fix connection and loading errors in Chrome.
Use Incognito to check your regular Chrome profile
Open a new Incognito window and try Amazon there. If it works in Incognito but not in your regular window, that is a clue to check the regular profile’s extensions and saved browsing data; it does not identify a single cause by itself. If Amazon still fails in Incognito, keep using the displayed error to guide your next checks.
Check extensions if Amazon works in Incognito
- In your regular Chrome window, open the extensions menu and go to Manage extensions.
- Turn off extensions, then reload Amazon.
- If the page starts working, turn extensions back on one at a time, reloading Amazon after each one, to identify whether an extension is involved.
Review an extension’s site permissions if they are relevant to the problem, and keep only extensions you trust. Google’s instructions for extension controls and permissions are in Install and manage extensions.

Clear relevant cookies or cached files if needed
If extensions do not explain the problem, try removing relevant browsing data. In Chrome, open Delete browsing data, choose a time range, and select cookies and other site data or cached images and files as appropriate. Prefer a narrow cleanup when the interface allows it, rather than deleting more data than necessary.
Clearing cookies and site data may sign you out of websites. Pages may also load more slowly the first time afterward while content is downloaded again. See Google Account Help: Clear cache & cookies for the Chrome steps.

Use Chrome’s error message to choose a network check
If Amazon still fails, read the full error shown in Chrome rather than treating every failure as the same problem. Common codes point to different kinds of checks:

Try a reset only after simpler checks
If the problem continues and Chrome settings may have been changed, use Chrome’s Reset settings option as a later step. Google says bookmarks and passwords are not deleted, but settings such as extensions and cookies or site data change. Review the effects before confirming the reset: it can alter the same profile settings you may rely on for other sites. Details are in Google Chrome Help: Reset Chrome settings to default.

If Amazon still will not load
- If Chrome is slow, crashing, or reporting a memory problem, close unnecessary tabs and apps, then retry.
- If multiple websites fail, focus on the internet connection or network rather than changing Amazon-specific settings.
- If only Amazon fails across regular and Incognito windows, the checks above do not establish whether Amazon itself is experiencing a problem. The available Chrome guidance does not verify a current Amazon outage or a specific Amazon-only defect.
