First find out whether the home server is watching the bhajan livestream or broadcasting it: the fixes differ. For playback, compare another device on the same Wi-Fi, check the server’s signal and network load, lower playback quality, and try Ethernet temporarily if practical. If the server is sending the stream to YouTube, check the encoder and YouTube Live health warnings instead.

Identify which part of the livestream is buffering

“Home server” can mean a computer or other device playing the live video, or a machine running an encoder that sends a livestream to YouTube. A viewer’s buffering usually points to playback, the device, or the connection between it and YouTube. An outgoing broadcast problem needs encoder and incoming-stream diagnostics. Those symptoms can overlap, but they are not the same diagnosis.

The exact cause cannot be determined from the symptom alone. The operating system, player, router, internet provider, Wi-Fi conditions, video quality, and whether this server is a viewer or broadcaster all matter. Use the comparisons below before buying networking equipment or changing broadband plans.

Diagnose playback buffering step by step

1. Compare another device on the same Wi-Fi

  1. Open the same bhajan livestream on another supported device connected to the same home Wi-Fi.
  2. Compare whether it buffers at about the same time and whether it plays at a similar quality.
  3. If only the server has trouble, investigate that machine’s browser or playback app, available resources, cache, and updates.
  4. If several devices have trouble, look next at Wi-Fi conditions, other network traffic, the internet-provider path, or a possible YouTube-side issue.

YouTube’s playback troubleshooting recommends trying the video on a different internet connection. This comparison is useful because it helps establish whether the symptom follows one device or affects the home connection more broadly; it does not by itself identify the failing component.

  • Our Cybersecurity Commitment - TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement
  • More Gigabit Ports - Each Deco X55 has 3 Gigabit Ethernet ports(6 in total for a 2-pack) and supports Wired Ethernet Backhaul for better speeds. Any of them can work as a Wi-Fi Router

2. Test the server on another connection

If available, try the same server on a different internet connection, such as a mobile hotspot. If playback improves, the home Wi-Fi or internet path becomes a stronger suspect. Mobile data charges or usage limits may apply. If it still buffers, investigate the server and player as well as the connection path beyond the home network.

3. Check the server’s Wi-Fi location and competing traffic

  • Temporarily move the server closer to the router and compare playback.
  • Avoid testing with the server behind metal, inside a recessed space, or otherwise blocked from the router.
  • For a short diagnostic test, pause heavy downloads or other high-traffic activity on household devices.

YouTube’s TV playback guidance calls out router range, interference, and other devices using the network as things to check. These are reversible tests, not proof that the router or internet plan needs replacing.

  • A New Way to WiFi: Deco Mesh technology gives you a better WiFi experience in all directions with faster WiFi speeds and strong WiFi signal to cover your whole home.
  • Better Coverage than traditional WiFi routers: Deco S4 three units work seamlessly to create a WiFi mesh network that can cover homes up to 5, 500 square feet. No dead zone anymore.
  • Seamless and Stable WiFi Mesh: Rather than wifi range extender that need multiple network names and passwords, Deco S4 allows you to enjoy seamless roaming throughout the house, with a single network name and password.
  • Incredibly fast 3× 3 6 Stream AC1900 speeds makes the deco capable of providing connectivity for up to 100 devices.
  • With advanced Deco Mesh Technology, units work together to form a unified network with a single network name. Devices automatically switch between Decos as you move through your home for the fastest possible speeds.

4. Lower the playback quality

If the player offers manual quality selection, choose a lower setting and see whether interruptions stop. A successful lower-quality test suggests the current device or connection path may not sustain the previous playback mode; it does not tell you which one is limiting performance. The trade-off is reduced picture detail.

YouTube Help recommends a minimum connection speed of 7 Mbps for HD streaming on TV. Treat that figure as TV playback guidance, not a universal guarantee for every server, resolution, live stream, or network condition. A speed-test result alone cannot explain every live interruption.

5. Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet, if practical

Connect the server to the router with Ethernet temporarily, if both have compatible ports and you have a suitable cable. If playback becomes stable, the wireless link may be involved. If it continues buffering, the cause could be elsewhere in the home network, the provider’s path, the playback device, or YouTube. A wired test is a diagnostic comparison, not a guaranteed fix; confirm cable length and port compatibility before buying anything.

If the home server is broadcasting to YouTube

When the server is sending a livestream, use YouTube Live Control Room or the encoder’s warnings and stream-health information. Do not rely only on what a viewer sees while playing the stream. Google’s YouTube Live API health-status documentation describes configuration issues that can affect stream quality, including keyframes being sent too infrequently and YouTube not receiving enough video for smooth streaming.

The 6 GHz band is available only for WiFi 6 traffic, allowing WiFi 6 to meet its intended potential
  • Check for encoder or Live Control Room warnings. Use the warning text to identify whether the issue is with stream configuration or incoming media.
  • Inspect keyframe-related warnings. If YouTube reports keyframes are not frequent enough, check the encoder’s keyframe interval against the applicable YouTube streaming guidance and the encoder’s current settings.
  • Inspect incoming-video warnings. If YouTube says it is not receiving enough video, check the encoder output and the broadcaster’s upload connection for interruptions.
  • Separate viewer symptoms from stream health. A viewer’s Wi-Fi can buffer even when the broadcast is healthy, and encoder warnings can exist even when one viewer’s playback happens to look smooth.

The specific encoder, resolution, and settings are not known here, so do not apply a guessed bitrate or keyframe value. Use the warnings and the documentation for the encoder and stream configuration actually in use.

Why live video can be less tolerant of a variable connection

YouTube’s live-latency guidance explains that lower latency leaves the player less time to read ahead into a buffer, which can make interruptions more likely when the connection varies. Network congestion can also affect live programming. A viewer generally cannot change the broadcaster’s latency mode, but this helps explain why a live stream may interrupt even when some on-demand video plays acceptably.

What each test tells you

Test What it helps isolate What the result does not prove Cost or inconvenience
Same livestream on a second device on the same Wi-Fi Whether the issue appears specific to the server It does not identify a precise cause if multiple devices are affected No purchase required
Same server on another connection Whether the home Wi-Fi or provider path may be involved One successful test does not distinguish Wi-Fi from every other part of the home connection Mobile data charges or limits may apply on a hotspot
Move closer to router and reduce competing traffic Whether placement, signal conditions, or local network use may contribute It does not establish that new equipment is needed Temporary and reversible
Lower playback quality Whether the selected playback mode may be too demanding for the current path or device It does not identify the limiting component Less visual detail
Temporary Ethernet connection Whether the wireless link may be involved It does not guarantee a permanent fix or rule out provider or device issues Needs compatible ports and a suitable cable
Provider diagnostics Provider-specific connection or router issues Available checks and conclusions depend on the provider Steps vary by provider

Use your internet provider’s diagnostics where available

JioFiber customers can use Jio’s diagnostic path to check for issues such as weak Wi-Fi signal, a router being offline, speed drops, or device overload. Those checks are specific to JioFiber. If you use another provider, use that provider’s own diagnostics or support channel rather than assuming the same tools or labels are available.
