To find where a movie is streaming, search its exact title in an availability guide such as JustWatch, set the guide to your country, and check whether each result is included, free, ad-supported, for rent, or for purchase. Before you press play—or pay—open the movie’s page at the provider to confirm the offer and any price.
How do I find where a movie is streaming?
A streaming availability guide gathers offers from multiple services, so you can check one search instead of opening apps one by one. JustWatch says viewers can filter by services they use and browse offers to stream, buy, or rent movies; it also names Tubi and Pluto TV as examples of free ad-supported services. See JustWatch’s movie guide for its search and filter options.
- Open an availability guide and search for the movie’s exact title. If the title is common or the results seem wrong, use a release year or another identifying detail to narrow the match.
- Check the country or region selected in the guide. WhereToWatch offers country selection and says national catalogs differ because of regional licensing agreements. That is the service’s explanation; a listing for another country does not establish that the movie will play through your local account. See WhereToWatch.
- Read the offer type shown beside each provider before opening it. A title listed as available may require a separate rental or purchase rather than being included in a subscription.
- Open the movie’s page at the provider and confirm that the title, offer, and price match what you expect. Availability guides aggregate listings; the provider’s page is the place to verify its current offer.
What does “available” mean?
Streaming guides may group several kinds of access in the same results. JustWatch’s partner documentation identifies these offer types: “flatrate, rent, buy, ads, free, none.” In practical terms, a movie appearing in search results is not necessarily included with a subscription.
- Subscription: The guide identifies an offer associated with a subscription service. Check the provider’s title page to confirm whether your plan includes it.
- Free or ad-supported: The movie may be watchable without a rental or purchase, with advertising for ad-supported offers. JustWatch names Tubi and Pluto TV as examples of free ad-supported services.
- Rent: You pay for temporary access. Check the provider’s price and rental terms before confirming.
- Buy: You pay to purchase the title through that provider. Check the listed price and what the purchase provides.
- No offer: The guide does not show an offer in the selected catalog. That does not rule out a listing in another country or a later change in availability.
Why does the country setting matter?
Streaming catalogs can differ between countries. WhereToWatch says those differences reflect regional licensing agreements and provides country selection. Choose the country where you will watch, rather than relying on a result from a different national catalog. Even with the right setting, confirm the offer on the provider’s own page because a guide listing does not guarantee access through your particular account.

What if the movie is not included with a subscription?
Before concluding that a movie is unavailable, look for other offer types in the guide. It may be free or ad-supported, or available to rent or buy. Compare the provider options, then check the selected provider’s title page for its current price and access terms. If the guide shows no offer, you can try a different availability guide, but treat its result as a separate listing to verify—not proof that the movie is playable in your country.

Catalog entries and offer details can change. JustWatch says the data in its partner widget is updated daily; that is the company’s statement about its data, not a guarantee that every listing or price is current when you see it. Its documentation describes a partner widget and lists the offer categories, but does not establish publisher eligibility or referral terms. For a viewer, the useful next step is to confirm the live offer with the provider before watching or paying. See JustWatch partner widget documentation.
