To find Steam games like the ones on your wishlist, start with Your Store recommendations and the Discovery Queue, then use Steam’s Interactive Recommender and tags to narrow the results. Curators and the Recommendation Feed can add human perspectives. These tools use different signals, so treat their results as suggestions and check each game’s store page before adding it to your list.
1. Start with Your Store and the Discovery Queue
Open Your Store and browse its personalized recommendations or Discovery Queue. Steam’s Discovery Update describes recommendations that may draw on what friends recommend, games on your wishlist, and games similar to ones you recently played. That can help surface titles related to your existing interests without requiring you to set a particular wishlist game as a seed.
Use this first pass to spot candidates and patterns: note the genres, themes, or styles shared by games that appeal to you. The Queue is also useful when you want to see games beyond those already available to play; Valve says it is designed to surface new releases that nobody has played yet.

2. Try the Interactive Recommender for a focused pass
From Your Store, choose the Interactive Recommender. Steam describes it as suggesting games based on the play habits of people with habits similar to yours. Its controls include tag filtering and saved settings, so you can steer the recommendations toward qualities you want to see more often. The Recommender is one discovery route, not a replacement for the rest of Steam’s store tools. Valve specifically notes that it cannot recommend new releases nobody has played yet, while the Discovery Queue is designed to do that. If you are looking for upcoming or brand-new games, use the Queue and other store discovery surfaces as well.
3. Use tags to make similarity more specific
Tags let you steer discovery toward the parts of a wishlist game that matter to you. Look at a game’s store-page tags and pick a few that describe your preference—perhaps a genre, setting, or play style—then use those tags in the Interactive Recommender or browse Steam’s tag pages and tag-based search. Tags are clues, not a promise that two games will feel alike. A shared genre or theme may not mean they have the same mechanics, pace, tone, or features. Open a promising candidate’s store page and read its description and feature list to confirm the match.
4. Add human-curated recommendations
When you want opinions or themed lists rather than another personalized ranking, explore Steam Curators and the Recommendation Feed. Curators can help you find recommendations from people or groups whose tastes you recognize; the feed offers another way to encounter recommendations through the store. Steam includes both among its discovery and store features in its Steamworks visibility documentation.
5. Keep or dismiss candidates as you browse
On discovery items, use Steam’s available controls to wishlist a game you want to revisit or mark it ignored if it is not for you. The Discovery Update describes these controls. To view or manage your saved games, open your wishlist; Steam Support explains how to access and edit the Steam Wishlist. Keeping the list focused makes it easier to review candidates later.

Steam’s feature descriptions establish what these tools are designed to do, but do not promise that every result will resemble a particular wishlist game. Menu wording and availability can also differ across Steam interfaces, so look for the named feature under Your Store if the path differs on your client.
