During “Inside CEG HQ,” Richard’s box is 36, and its code is 486. First open the security room with 4895, find and combine both Case Codes fragments, then use Richard’s employee ID, 00007820518, at the security computer to print the elevator access card.

How to find and open Richard’s box
- Enter the security room. Use 4895 on the keypad. This is the room code, not the code for Richard’s box.
- Collect both Case Codes fragments. Search the waste bin in the security room for one fragment, then search the waste bin in the maintenance room for the other. Combine the fragments in your inventory to complete the box-code grid.
- Check Richard’s box number. Read the “Box IDs and Names” document on the lectern on the stage. It assigns Richard box 36. Use the number printed on the box rather than relying on its position or a seating count; descriptions of the seating layout differ between guides.
- Enter the box code. Use the completed grid to enter 486 on box 36, then take Richard’s employee file. Avoid guessing at another box: opening an incorrect one can cost health.
How to print the elevator access card
- Return to the security computer after taking Richard’s employee file.
- Enter Richard’s full employee ID: 00007820518. Include every leading zero.
- Collect the access card printed by the computer.
- Use the card at the CEG elevator to reach the 10th floor.
Why the puzzle follows the story
The box-and-card sequence is part of the “Inside CEG HQ” chapter, not a separate optional lock. PlayStation describes the game’s puzzles as designed alongside the story and grounded in the setting and its inhabitants. The official PlayStation Blog announcement also describes the CRTV, a pocket television used to tune unstable signals.
Konami lists Silent Hill: Townfall for PlayStation 5 and PC and gives September 24, 2026 as its release date on its official game page.
