Start in the Settings app: use its search field and type the name of the setting or feature. If you mean a control that is missing from the screen, open Quick Settings; if you mean an advanced developer control, an app permission, or hidden apps, those are different places. Android has no single “hidden settings” menu, and labels and availability vary by Android version, manufacturer, device support, and management policy.
Where should you look for the setting?
- A control such as Wi-Fi or Battery Saver: open Quick Settings and check its available tiles.
- A testing or development control: look under Developer options, if available.
- An app feature or preference: search Settings, then check the app’s own Settings page.
- Access blocked for a particular app: inspect that app’s entry under Settings > Apps; do not grant access unless you trust its developer.
- Apps you want to keep out of ordinary views: check whether your device supports Private space.
How do I find a setting with Android search?
Open the Settings app and tap its search field or search icon. Enter the setting’s name, a related feature, or the app that may control it. Search is a practical first step, but it may not find every manufacturer-specific option or a setting nested inside another app. If the result is missing, try the relevant route below and check your phone maker’s support instructions for your exact model.
How do I find advanced settings in Quick Settings?
- Swipe down from the top of the screen once to show the first controls.
- Swipe down again to show the full Quick Settings panel.
- Touch and hold a tile to open its advanced settings, when that tile supports them.
- Tap Edit to inspect available tiles and add, remove, or rearrange controls.
Google’s Android Help instructions for Quick Settings note that some active tiles may not appear when the panel has many enabled. If you see a dot at the top of the screen, look for additional controls beyond the ones currently shown.
Where are Developer options on Android?
Developer options is a system-level area for development and testing controls, not a general collection of secret features. Google documents a route of Settings > System > Developer options for a specific example, but the location and steps for enabling this area can differ by device. The available guidance does not establish one activation procedure that applies to every Android phone, so use the manufacturer’s instructions for your model rather than relying on a supposedly universal gesture.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Do not change a Developer option just because it is unfamiliar. If you are trying to change a feature in one app, check that app’s settings first; its controls may have nothing to do with Android’s Developer options. TalkBack also has its own Developer settings for testing and debugging TalkBack, separate from the system-wide Developer options. Google advises non-developers to use TalkBack’s developer controls sparingly.
How do I allow a restricted setting for an app?
Android may block an app from accessing certain sensitive settings. If you have verified why an app needs that access and trust its developer, Google documents this route:

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
- Open Settings > Apps.
- Select the app.
- Tap More > Allow restricted settings.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
Some steps work only on Android 13 and later. Allowing access can expose sensitive information: for example, an app with accessibility access may read screen content and interact with apps on your behalf. Google warns, “We don’t recommend that you allow restricted settings unless you trust the app developer.” See Google’s guidance on restricted settings; do not enable access merely to make an app feature work.
Can I find a setting buried in Google Play services?
Some controls live several levels down in Google Play services rather than in the usual Settings categories. One documented example is Contextual Suggestions, reached through Settings > Apps > All apps > Google Play services > All services > Developer features > Contextual Suggestions. Google’s instructions for Contextual Suggestions say the casting-related entry point requires Android 14 or later. The page also says data used for suggestions is automatically deleted after 60 days.

How does Private space hide apps?
On supported devices running Android 15 or later, Private space provides a separate area for apps. Google’s documented path is Settings > Security & privacy > Privacy > Private space. Hardware support and device policies matter: managed devices and some account or profile configurations are ineligible, so availability is not guaranteed on every Android 15 device. See Google’s Private space requirements and setup instructions.
A locked Private space hides its apps from several ordinary system surfaces, including Settings. You can also turn on “Hide private space when it’s locked” in the Private space settings. Unlocking the space makes its apps visible again. This is not guaranteed invisibility: Google cautions that the space may still be discovered through computer access such as ADB, device logs, or apps. For setup and limits, see Google’s Private space guidance.

Why can’t I find a setting on my Android phone?
- The setting may have a different name. Search for the feature or the app that owns it, not only the exact label you expect.
- It may be a tile rather than a Settings page. Check Quick Settings and its Edit screen.
- Your Android version or device may not support it. Some features have version, hardware, or management requirements.
- Your manufacturer may have moved or renamed it. Android menu layouts are not identical across brands and models.
- An administrator may restrict it. Work or managed-device policies can affect which controls are available.
If Settings search and the relevant general route do not help, consult the phone manufacturer’s support material for the exact model and Android release. A path documented for one phone should not be assumed to work on every other phone.
