In Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, find a hidden Cheat Code, interact with it, and enter its directional sequence to free a Sprite ally. Epic confirms that summoning a Sprite requires a hold input, but its reviewed update notes do not give a universal control or menu path for equipping one. Sprites are also vaulted in Ranked Battle Royale as of August 28, 2026.
Where do you find Sprites in Fortnite?
In Override, the discovery route is to search for Cheat Codes hidden around the Island. Epic says they can be tucked inside POIs or sprayed on walls; it does not publish fixed coordinates for every code. [Epic’s v42.00 update notes]

How to use the Cheat Code Locator
Epic describes the Cheat Code Locator as a Gizmo that finds the nearest Cheat Code. It can help narrow your search if you have access to it. How do you equip or summon a Sprite?
Epic’s update notes confirm that the hold time needed to summon a Sprite was reduced, which indicates summoning uses a hold input. They do not specify a universal button, inventory slot, or menu sequence across platforms. What do the different Sprites do?
Override’s Sprite effects suit different immediate needs. Epic’s current-season notes describe these examples; they do not rank the Sprites by overall strength. [Epic’s v42.00 update notes]
- Sonic: increases sprint speed.
- Tails: lets you hover.
- Shadow: automatically reloads weapons over time.
- Jonesy: restores health or shield after damage.
Choose based on what you need in the moment: mobility, weapon readiness, or recovery. A separate example is the Batman Sprite, introduced through quests in July 2026: Epic says it lets players deploy the Bat Cape midair and find rare Sprites in chests more often in Battle Royale matches. Are Season 3 Sprites the same as Season 4 Sprites?
No. Season 3: Runners used a find-and-extract collection system. In Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, the active Battle Royale mechanic is to free a Sprite by entering a Cheat Code. Epic says the Season 3 collection is preserved in Sprite Garden, where players can play with their collected Sprites and show them to friends. Epic Support also describes visiting friends’ garden sanctuaries. Sprite Garden is the showcase and play space for the older collection, not another name for equipping a Sprite in a current Battle Royale match. Can you use Sprites in Ranked?
Epic’s update notes say Sprites were vaulted in Ranked Battle Royale on August 28, 2026, while the company evaluated whether they belonged in the Ranked loot pool. This is a dated availability note, not a guarantee about later playlist changes; check current update notes if you are playing after that date. [Epic’s v44.00 update notes]

Does the Battle Pass unlock Sprites?
Epic’s reviewed Sprite instructions do not say that a Battle Pass purchase is required to find or summon Sprites. The Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass page says the pass ends November 1, 2026, Eastern Time; that is season timing, not evidence of a Sprite purchase requirement. [Fortnite Battle Pass page]
