First, check that YouTube is signed in to the Google account and channel that created the playlist, then open You > Playlists. If it is not there, you may be able to find the videos through watch history or surviving links and rebuild a new playlist. YouTube’s documented help guidance does not provide a way to restore a deleted playlist itself.

Check whether the playlist is missing or deleted

  1. Verify the account and channel. On YouTube, open your profile menu and confirm the signed-in Google account. If you use more than one account or channel, switch to the one that may have created the playlist. A playlist tied to another account or Brand Account will not appear in the current account’s list.
  2. Open your playlists. Go to You > Playlists and look for the list. YouTube identifies this as the place to find playlists created by your account. If the playlist appears but some videos are missing or unavailable, that is different from the playlist itself being deleted.

YouTube says that after a playlist is deleted, its URL and title are no longer visible or searchable in YouTube Analytics. Its help page does not describe an owner-side restore control. It does note that “Your old playlist may continue to exist in viewers’ watch histories,” but that is not a guarantee that a particular viewer still has access to it or that the playlist can be restored.

Search YouTube watch history for the videos

Watch history may help you identify videos that were in the playlist, but it recovers video leads—not the original playlist object. It only helps if the relevant activity is still retained and history was enabled when you watched the videos.

On a computer

  1. Sign in to the Google account that may have watched the videos.
  2. Open My Activity, then choose YouTube History.
  3. Select Manage history.
  4. Use Search to look for a title or keyword, or filter by date to narrow the results.

In the YouTube app

  1. Tap your profile photo.
  2. Open Settings > Manage all history.
  3. Use Search or Calendar to look for the videos or the period when you watched them.

Videos watched while YouTube watch history was turned off will not appear there. Deleted history and records no longer available to the account cannot be recovered by searching the history view.

Look for surviving links or viewer traces

  • Check browser bookmarks, messages, notes, or posts where you may have shared the playlist URL.
  • Ask someone who watched or saved the playlist to check their YouTube watch history or saved links. YouTube says the old playlist may remain in viewers’ watch histories, but availability depends on what that viewer’s account still retains.

A surviving link or viewer trace may help identify the videos or expose a still-accessible playlist. It does not provide a documented way for the playlist owner to restore a deleted list.

Can Google Takeout recover the deleted playlist?

Google Takeout exports data that is available from Google products, including YouTube data. You can request an export and inspect the YouTube material it contains, but Takeout is not documented as an undelete tool and should not be treated as a guaranteed record of deleted playlists. Google says that if information has been deleted from its storage systems, it is unlikely to be recoverable.

A YouTube Help Community reply has suggested Takeout for reviewing playlist history, but community replies are not verified platform guidance. Treat that suggestion as a lead to inspect an export, not proof that a deleted playlist will appear in it.

Rebuild the playlist from videos you find

If you identify the videos through history, a saved link, or another viewer, create a new playlist and add them. YouTube documents creating a replacement playlist, but rebuilding does not restore the original playlist URL, title record, or ordering. Arrange the videos in the order you want in the new list.
