To give yourself more time to undo an email in Apple Mail, open Settings > Apps > Mail > Undo Send Delay and choose a longer delay. Apple documents a default window of 10 seconds and a maximum setting of 30 seconds. After you send a message, tap Undo Send before the selected delay expires.
Change the Undo Send delay
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap Apps, then Mail.
- Tap Undo Send Delay.
- Choose a longer delay from the available options. Apple’s iPhone Mail settings guide says the delay can be set for up to 30 seconds: Change your Mail settings on iPhone.
Use Undo Send after sending
After you send an email in Mail, tap Undo Send while the delay is still active. Apple’s iPhone guide documents 10 seconds to change your mind after sending; the delay setting lets you extend that opportunity, up to 30 seconds: Unsend email with Undo Send in Mail on iPhone.

What Undo Send does—and does not do
Undo Send delays the outgoing email; it does not retrieve a message after it has been sent or delivered. Apple says that if Undo Send is still available, the message has not been sent. Once the delay expires, the undo option is no longer available in Mail. See Apple’s email sending troubleshooting guidance for that distinction.
